    Victas products

Might give it a go with that victas stuff, but thar hardie backer board seems fairly promising. What's the coverage like witj victas, would 2 tubs of that backing coat be enough for standard size fire place ?

    Victas products

Hi, got fire place to do, was thinking of using those victas products instead of s&c. Anyone used it before? Whats the coverage, does it finish off alright? I was gonna float the inside with the victas render system smooth. Then skim the face of it with their plaster. Reason of why to use it...

    Tyrolean

Hi, seen a job last week, it's a front of the house. They want to match the rest of the house and pretty much go straight over the top of existing render. I suggested tyrolean spray and they seemed very keen on that idea. Existing render is strong and it doesn't seem to be blown. Got few areas...

Let it be, Let it bee!

It's getting colder by day, to prevent going to early I normally just crack on with some prep in between the trowels, I recently invested in refina spatula, stiff one, I give it a nice flatten after second coat and I really let it pull in, just checking by hand every now and then how wet it is

    Anyone want this

That was universal one coat, make sure there's no sing of salts as it'll show through

    Jack it in, Gutted, help!

Always check before you start which walls can get sun shining sideways before you start next job. On those walls spend a bit extra time, don't even bother with any flexi trowels until very end to just polish up. But yeah shining torch down somebody's work is disrespectful and I would 100% not do...

    Hoover

Bought a hoover from wickes £42 minus discount. It's actually really good, only bought it as my henry f**k*d up and was desperate, but quite impressed for the price.

    Plaster

Too much water used to trowel up, probably left too long and whoever was doing it was trying to trowel out lump near the bead.

    Pregrit - any good?

On silky walls and ceilings I use pink grit from wickes, it's their own brand and it works really good. It's £22 a tub. But generally I just slap pva on it.

    Starting to bite.

It was about to happen post brexit, but I reckon things will go back to normal soonish. I heard lots of people having problems with returning goods like clothes etc if the company is based in eu as not every company is willing to cover border expenses. So then you are left with choice of...

Sticking beads on. Oh no. Not this again!

Why f**k about with adhesive when you can get dewalt staple gun and it goes through anything, you don't even have to aim for holes in beads as it goes through the bead too.

Another new trowel from NELA - PREMIUM ELITE

    Lumpy plaster

Works the treat. Hapennes now and then and you just have to know the timing to get the bubbles out. Best thing is to skim it when bonding or hardwall is just right. Happens as well when you pva it when skimming next day.
  33. K

    Lumpy plaster

Its 100% bubbles from hardball/bonding, left too long without trowelling them out and then he tried to get them out with final pass which caused it to blister.
  34. K

    Lumpy plaster

Looks like air bubbles when you get hardwall on when still wet. Nothing wrong with that but you have to make sure you trowel them out, unless you flexi trowel master as seen on the photos.

    Accounting Apps/Software

Best thing about quickbooks is that customers can't really say week overdue invoice that they haven't received it. It shows in the app when they view it. The whole thing is very easy to use and understand. I sometimes send customers invoices before I leave job as it takes 2 min and you can...

Still problems with multi and board??!!

Today was first day of multi actually setting off ok, as it was 11 degrees. Its winter timing which is s**t, gauges taking up to 3 hours on board etc. I just flat it down a leave it for ages till it goes really tacky. Marshall Town pretty much all the way till the end. Then flex.

    Is this a Good Price

I didn't bother. They offered me different job to do instead as i said it would be really awkward with customer, and when I mentioned my day rate as this is how they wanted to pay me they offered me £170 cash which I refused to do for as its way below my rate (if I do day work), there's no way...

    Is this a Good Price

There's always someone who's doing s**t for s**t money. I'm Polish and I really price myself, simply want to earn good money and I hate undercutting. Few weeks ago I had a other plastering company asking me if I can give them a hand as they got s**t loads on. I had a gap in my calendar of 3...

Anyone with experience from previous recessions/hard times

I got a used van on finance just before Christmas, I needed one as my old banger was struggling, I knew that I definitely don't want to pay cash, as it was a lot so did that. Paying just over 200 quid a month, happy days. Smiling driving to work, I know I can trust it as its pretty much new.
