HELP! Hello everyone - I’m looking for some advice for my mum who is an elderly lady getting a new kitchen installed.

If you look at the attached pictures we have had a damp company (a) apply slurry inside and (b) inject sika 100 dpc outside. I was dubious of this but it’s done.

They haven’t plastered over. Now the depth of the plastering required is roughly over 10mm at points.
I am getting conflicting advice and I don’t know what materials to but for plastering/skimming over. Here’s the 3 quotes/advice that I have had.

(A) one is suggesting insulated plaster board, dot and dab. Skim over.
(B) the next is suggesting normal bonding and then plaster - saying that should be fine.
(C) the third is suggesting SBR latex bonding and then no more damp wykamol plaster, maybe a slim plaster board.

Could I check what your thoughts are on this please.l urgently as I have to select a plasterer.

If there’s a run of cabinets going along that wall, then don’t bother plastering it. Any showing above the units will prob be tiled over.

I don't like the areas that have been missed with the tanking, nor the bricks with pointing missing. I would correct those faults . float and set with Tarmac Limelite base coat and finish with Tarmac high impact finish plaster.
It is a small room so I would not consider [a] the insulated plasterboard. Bonding is a gypsum plaster and should be nowhere near a damp problem. [c] I don't like the sound of thin coat plasterboard either.

Ask the company that installed the system for their specification, then hand it to the plasterer and explain they must follow it. Takes any doubt out of what needs to be done and if it fails it’s straight back to the doc installers as it’s then their proble.

That a snake oil salesman
& his rising damp metre strikes again .

I would always insulate if possible. 4-1 sand/cement over tanking slurry then adhesive foam fix 37.5mm insulated plasterboards.

Or as others have said if not insulation go with the Limelite renovating plaster.
