Good insulator?

Looking at the case study: https://corksoluk.com/latest-news/c...internal-wall-insulation-solution-case-study/

It would seem there is no chance of an impact on EPC rating using this product when the required U value is 0.30W/m2.K for existing buildings (walls).

Unless the wall is already insulated and this is a top up coating.

I don't see how they can market it as an alternative for EWI/IWI?

Thoughts?
When I have previously questioned this, I have always been ignored. Having spoken to many people within the industry, we all ask how 1.5mm of a coloured cork offers thermal benefits more significant than an EWI system.

Cheltenham. If that’s too far, call up next week, place an order and ask for me - I’ll sort it out.
Are you still dishing out free balloons Ryan?

It's impossible it would probably have to be 100mm thick. The problem is I have customers believing the marketing that this product is going to offer superior insulation comparable to 80-100mm of PIR-EPS. When in reality they would probably get a similar upgrade using some insulated wallpaper and tin foil behind the rad!

Tech sheet if anyone wants a read. Been using it for around 5 years.
It's a 6mm coating not a 1.5.
Can never beat a full ewi system but it's good for tiwi as it's a massive space saver.
Also good to overspray the likes of cracked mono.
