Stramit?

Hi all, just been to look at a kitchen that needs plastering where tiles have been taken off. Underneath exposed some compressed straw walls that after reading sounds like stramit?
Should they be boarded over or are they able to be repaired and then skimmed over?
Cheers

It’s hard to say depends on the straw how compact is it how much damage is there to the straw that stramit is a right bitch most likely the boards have only been fixed to two horizontal studs top&bottom

Rip it all out and start again, think of the cash flow. ££££££££

You could plaster it as it is but straw bits might stick up or give uneven drying. I'd stick some lining paper on the exposed bits and PVA the lot. That way its all consistent.
