The old boys I worked with when did trade were pushing 70, fittest old guys around back in the day, after threatening to retire for years they were well in thier 70's and slowing down a bit when they finally hung up thier trowel, one sooky Walters who taught me loads died 3 years after packing it in and the other older guy George lasted 5 years still miss em they were the real deal and knew the trade inside out, best thing was learning old school and new school trade back then.

Just not for me anymore I used to do 2 50m2 hits a day good money but the wear and tear on ya body gets to you, I’d much rather do 3 30ish m2 hits and be able to chill for 5mins while it’s on grab a coffee or something, each to their own tho mate! If I had a labourer I’d do bigger hits

Three smaller hits is the more traditional way of working. A couple of tea breaks between hits as well. You won't see many of the modern lot keeping at it beyond fifty years of age. @algeeman will be the exception, but that's because the rough c**t doesn't bother putting any effort into trowelling it up.
