Will a gap between render and fascia cause damp issues/blow the new render?

Perhaps I am catastrophizing? It doesn't look good though. This is fresh lime btw.
Thanks for looking anyway.

not really knowing what you are expecting.

its a retrofit. the renderer has done his best to get up behind it.

if you are that worried you can put new facia up.

You're not making sense ?
Measure gap between render and soffit if it's an inch get two inch pvc make up comes in 5m lengths.
Clean soffit near wall Polly pin strip and super glue if needed so it's close enough to the render which looks in your pics to go up higher than the soffit.

Yeah I defo cant do this myself, the gap is highly varied acroos the wall. I dont have to limit myself to just renderers and roofers I guess. Im in a huge rush due to scaffold timing so hopefully find someone tomorrow. Ill try everyone short of decorators I guess.

Wot Smudger said but to be clear you only fix it to the plastic soffit not the wall. Standard spray and superglue from the PVC suppliers should do it.

My roofer will do it, ima muppet it likely. Still curious what dangers are for this to be left out of curiosity? Is it just insects n critters getting in more easily or can the new render actually get blown after enough years left like that?

Thanks all.

Yeah

What is the render applied to?

Some render systems need to be open at the top, for ventilation of what is the structure behind…

If this is needed, there should be an insect mesh up there somewhere…

You can drop the facia down below it, and still leave a gap for ventilation…

Good luck

Is a viccy terrace, no cavity and granite. Lime render too :)

As it is, water will collect as drips on the bottom of the fascia board, some will fall , some will get blown onto the top edge of the render/brickwork. In time frost and weather will possibly/probably force patches off.

You've render specialists & qualified folk on here and you prefer to believe a roofer???
Hes the only one to see it in person though, but I guess he isnt responsible for fitting the render to the soffit in his work. It was only small stretches of the front that had that big a gap. Oh man I'll look again tomorrow. Think half the width had no gap at all, some 1 cm. small portion 1.5.

Thanks. problem is scaffolding will be gone in one week (if im lucky) and I may not get a busy renderer with months of work lined up to do anything any time soon. So ill probably have to choose between hop[ing a decorator knows how to attach to outside render or just use the shiety silicon myself.
