Can this be salvaged?

Hi

I have recently had my house reskimmed as part of a major renovation. A construction company is doing the job.

I'm disappointed with the finish of the plaster. It has visible blemishes, if feels rough, smooth, rough, smooth when running your hand over and feels like it is undulating in places.

It doesn't fully extended to the ceiling / floor / skirtings in several areas, there are drips all over the place - on the plaster itself and the skirtings / window sills. It is cracking in areas.

I haven't seen a lot of finished plastering so would like to hear your opinions. Would also like to know if you think this can be fixed with filler and sanding or if it is more likely a case of a reskim from a different plasterer?

And finally, should there be any metal beading be visible at the corners?

It’s all lath and plaster and probably blown,while the room is empty and you have the budget take it all off back to the studs and get it all boarded get the ceiling over boarded if you don’t wanna take the ceiling down

Only a few walls are lath. The only skimmed ceiling that you see is over brand new plasterboard.

Getting this skim done was over the budget in itself..

You sound like a fussy old sod. I always supply a belt sander for free with every job .£18 from Amazon, just saves any arguments.

Thing is, Bob hadn't done any training, or even watched any YouTube videos because it wasn't around then.

Bob plastered a wall one day and when we asked about the god awful finish Bob cheerfully announced that he'd be back Monday with an orbital sander.

Except the customer painted it over the weekend and so Bobhad to leave it all dripping down the wall and full of cat faces
