Got a render job coming up, half painted brick and half block work that's about 2 year old, a gang of renderes did the front and 2 gables and they used some kind of red paint on the painted brick, any one know what it could be ?

Most likely MicroGobetis or RenderGrip. I would avoid doing the same.

Check the paint isn’t oil-based, if it isn’t and is on there solid, use PRB Renomur as a basecoat.

I think it's the micro gobetis they used, they used it at the front of the house on the same paint, straight onto it no basecoat, been on 2 year almost and is sound
