Hello,

Just after some friendly advice please. Paid someone to plaster walls and paid him after job was completed. A few days later holes started appearing in the plaster, the plasterer said it's our own fault because there must be damp proof paint on the walls, but I've lived here 24 years and never used anything on the walls but emulsion.

Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Thanks,

Jess

I dont think I have ever seen that except when skimmingover bonding... but even then it looks better than that

@malc

I think the same, it bubbles from paint, happens occasionally but he left them rather than leaving it do dry and hard troweling them out.

Agree with John paint bubbles, it’s a pain in the arse when it happens.
Get the plasterer back and if he’s decent he’ll reskim that wall (easy fix).
That’s when blue grit etc is worth the extra time.

Hi, thanks for your reply .

He came back to re skim over the job he'd already done. The plaster started coming off the wall. He asked us to take all the plaster off (took us 4 hours) so he could redo the job, free of charge, but we have to pay for the plaster, here's some examples of his work.

He was recommended to us by a joiner we're using, who is great, so we thought there would be no issues - but sadly won't be having him back and also need to book a carpet cleaner and an exorcism

Hi, thanks for your reply. He did say he saw them forming but didn't tell us until we called him, which has annoyed me so much. As he took the money off us and left without mentioning it.

That’s shocking your best to cut your losses. What area are you from there will be someone on here that can help you.
