New (professional) plaster job - lots of hollow patches... Help!

Hi all, recently got a couple of rooms skimmed in our 1950s house. A lot of the old skim came off when we removed wallpaper so got our builder to take anything loose off (however a fair bit, 70% or more, of the old skim remained in place afterwards). He then applied blue grit everywhere and got a plasterer to skim over. Couple of months have passed since, nice smooth job, but I've tapped around it recently and there are quite a lot of hollow patches here and there. Let's say 20 such patches in one room.

The plaster is not cracked and does not move / flex when pressed. It just sounds hollow and the patches range in size from smaller than a beer mat to about the size of an aubergine.

My question is: do you think this needs to be completely re-done or could we just leave it and see? Like, is the stuff going to be falling off the walls a year from now or is it not quite as bad as that?

In the rest of the house, I'm going to get them to go back to brick to avoid this...

Yea should of just been taken back to brick and re done, old house with worn out walls should not be just re skimmed.

Depending on your budget I’d advise take it back and re do properly otherwise you going to be thinking about it all the time and u will get issues down the line in that room. Good luck
