Removing solid coving

Currently I'm just going at it using a hammer and chisel- slow work and taking off chunks off the lime mortar and plaster behind and the plaster on the ceiling. The damage doesn't matter too much as I am skimming walls and ceiling, after overboarding ceiling. But does anyone know a quicker way?? Seen multitool mentioned, how would that work??
