Advice needed please

Hi all,
I’m after some advice please. I’m currently getting quotes to remove the old rendering and new rendering done on the front of my house.

Quote 1 is using k render silicon finish, this company said once the old render is removed and the brickwork is exposed it could need repairing before re rendering is done

Quote 2 is using Johnston stormshield render with anti crack mesh. This company said the brickwork under the older render would not need to be repaired the base coat would be enough.

it’s a 1930 house so I’m guessing the brickwork is not perfect under the old render
so does the brickwork need to be repaired before a new render is done?
thanks for any advice given

Well obviously you don't know what the brickwork is like until the render comes off its doubtful it will need repairing
If the k rend quote he's not suggesting using mesh avoid

Did the 'quote 1' people have a crystal ball with them?

Put some pictures up. I’m assuming the old render is falling off by
The render Is not In bad condition really Just a few cracks really around the mock Tudor timber boarding that need really replacing. Going to replace them with a upvc type and do the render at the same time so hopefully won’t have to touch it for a long time. It’s just the unknown of whether or not that doing the brickwork is really need or not.
How would you rate the johnstone's stormshield silicone render

Go with sand and cement render. K rend doesn’t look any good unless it’s done right

That’s probably because you’re not doing it right.. the ruling is the most important part. Anyone can float and sponge.

Johnstones is fine, using it a lot alately.

What is the repair? Whats wrong with it? Repair or repoint? Repoint is not needed and all the modern renders on refurb usually have reinforcing mesh embedded.

K Rend monocouche has a bad reputation but their other renders are fine.
