Tyrolean Cullamix prep

Hello Forum; Iam new here

I'am in the process of prepping the frount of a house for tyrolean, and have a question or two.

There is patchy masonary paint on the render, some of it is well adhered some not; about 20% can be scraped off.

I'am removing the rest with a paint stripper, which is suprsingly effective.

There is some cracking in the render, personally I think the original mix was a little strong. overall average condition. Evidnetly the tyrolean is going to be covering up the past repairs.

I intend to use webber cullamix through an air gun setup

Once surface is made good; should I prime the render to increase adhesion of the cullamix?

No, you need even suction throughout. Zero suction will cause slumps and will end up being a mess.

We used to prime sand and cement with a watered down mix of the colour you used and let it dry, took about half hour but it was more to make sure everything was coloured so you didn’t see the sand and cement through the finished job you also didnt need so much Tyrolean to cover it.

What would be the most effective way to repair any cracks in the render prior to applying the Tyrolean?

If it is flat then a thin coat render and mesh.

Bump

95% of the paint is stripped off now.

What's the best way to repair the cracks in the render? Before the tyrolean.

I was thinking grind the deeper cracks out, apply sbr slurry and make them good with sand and cement possibly with a fibre additive.

Or perhaps add a stainless mesh to the cracks and make good.
