Yea splitting hairs but I hear ya. yea It will be, I’m just working out the stairwells atm but hoping to get the lot

Seems to me they've no right asking you to price a job like that...let the big boys price it and just offer a day rate.

They’re doing it in stages so it’s going to be a long drawn out process with loads of red tape as it’s listed and has been neglected for years. They said that the bigger contractors weren’t interested in the job as it’s broken up into many smaller jobs in effect

Ffs thought I'd seen you off!!!!!!!!

Have you f**k.

In fact I was hoping id seen you off - waving your arms at the internet. It's not right. Bit mentally unstable you might say.

But don't worry. I've got something for you. You'll end up on the dung heap yet. You'll see.

Phhhhhhhhh.......

This is why I’m asking what people are working with atm. Haven’t done per meter work for a long time, I know it’s variable but honestly haven’t got a clue where to start
I can go and quote it for you and pay you day rate?

Oy! I used to be a QS and yes you would lose because a QS won't have enough detailed trade knowledge to price it accurately. Their big boys QS told them its a cover price and that's why they walked.
Heritage will walk in on it and stop the job while they agonise over something (my experience).
Zombie suggested breaking it down into small paid parcels which is kinda where I was going, with a day rate for non-parcel work and/or a day rate for waiting time/cancelled days - of go pure day rate which is safest.

You're going to need a few decent plasterers who know how to evaluate each task and produce a cost effective as well as aesthetically pleasing look and finish, whilst also paying respect to the fabric of the building. Tell them that and put in 250 a day.

This is what I’ve done, told them £260 plus parking charges an we will work 8-3

We take on jobs at a similar arrangement, It pisses me off because as soon as I start, the phone rings with earners I have to turn down, good to do beneficial work though.
