There’s some clever guys on here a lot smarter and quicker than me , I’m after a sentence that can quickly say back to customers when they say “ oh can you just”.

one of my pals answer is 'i just cannot do anything'.

i usually try to help my customers. the house that i plastered last week was because of that.
the couple who's son owned the house next door was unloading the granite worktops, the woman found them heavy to lift so she asked the plasterer if he would help her husband ? he answered that he could not as he had a bad back !
then this plasterer told the woman that he could give her a quote to plaster her house ? he got told where to go !

Of course i can, when i have finished this job i will work out a quote for you.
 
I sussed this years ago Vince I'm an absolute A1 c**t lads always cringe.

No matter how big or small I say sure no probs il work you an additional price out for it bla bla.

Its amazing how quickly that little hole in another room suddenly doesn't need doing!

A bit different in terms of trade, but everything is quoted for. So my answer is is, "Unfortunately not as I'm only insured for quoted work. If it's not quoted for it's not company business."

Unless i want to do whatever it is then I say yes. That is very infrequent these days as I find the gobsh1te to decent people ratio is increasing.

Sure I'll give you a price...or if as Danny says you are in top whack just do it for them 'FOC'.

Or if you don't want to do it just say you are behind already and don't have time sorry and would be happy to do it next time.

It's not about being clever mate half the battle is just having the confidence to charge people...once you have done it a few times it feels normal.
