Every job lol.
Took a job for a pikey over xmas 1400 quid. Asked mate in as well as he was slack . s**t price but desperate times = desperate measures.
Told other kid we.ll just live there n get done .
Nightmare from start other kid turned up at 8 . Small set dinner another small set home.
At end of job he worked it out and we made 40 pound a f**k**g day ish

Priced a farmhouse years ago its was to reskim the older parts of the house the new extension was getting skimmed by the builder. So turns up to the job to be asked could i touch up some bits that had been done by the builders plasterers. So had a look and the workmanship was rubbsh, instead of angle beads they'd used paper tape and not angle tape at that. The skim was thin as f**k and it looked terrible they must have struggled cos you could tell they'd used loads of water. I felt sorry for the homeowners they were young knew sod all about building work and basically skint so against better judgement took it on and it was a ball ache from start to finish. I'd walk away from something like that these days and have done, you live and learn.

Heart was in the right place, but these days you can’t always rule with it.

I would of done the same @Smudger1 but I’m state-side, and haven’t got the means to find a place and take them. I moan about it, but it’s nice to have a change-up in trade now & again.

Useful and funny! ..... blows your frock up lol!

Who’s in shoreditch and wants to look after me (not in a biblical sense!) while I better myself?! :coffe:

They have a lot of that sort of thing come up. There was separate funding for another program which ended earlier this year.

They cover most/all of the 'heritage' skills including the weird stuff like gilding ornamental plaster work, wall painting cleaning/restoration etc. etc.

I was looking at one for wood steaming and formwork run by a boat builder in Lowestoft next year.Probably not going to earn me much money, but that's not always the point of training and new skills.

I started one earlier this year and it was just a nightmare...

Old cottage pissed walls leaks... rotten electrics via blah blah blah

Was as good earner though and the end result was brilliant
