New build we are on its just a private builder..its huge, nearly finished it..we arnt know where near big enough to take 400 plots on and wudbt want to as there the tightest payers and you get paid every 1-2 months..biggest job we have done is 32 bed hotel but got paid every 2-3 weeks, honestly mate builders would tell me to do 1 there would think im just making excuses there r all the same

Can’t blame em they have a budget and they have to be tight

Just cant get me head around site as seems the ones I know skimming on site for pennies don’t give a f**k at s
About finish. Not saying they’re rough as f**k but definitely not meticulous

Had a call last week to board n skim 9 flats in Ludlow For £120 a day lol.
Laughed n hung up but are people actually doing it for that money ?

Thats just kitchen and living room..bigger than my entire house

Well this is exactly why I do domestic only. Obviously some of the site spreads consider you lesser as they’re the proper ones apparently.

Yet they’re working for pennies and f**k*d at 50? I actually half considered site work until I did a compression in earnings it’s shocking. Actually feel bad for spreads who know no better as they f**k*d it for themselves really

I’d think that’s the garage in a 8 milly mate lol
Garage is underneath holds 8 cars..its area aswell pal and the land the house is built on..theres 8 bedrooms, cinema room, gym, offices the full lot..houses on street are £5 mill and this is bigger than all of them bar 1

Nice what areas that ?

First off, thanks to @BritishGypsum for hooking me up with some pure finish. Credit where credits due.

Pure Finish

Mixed up bag n half. Powder feels finer. Nice n creamy mix.

Job was over-skim painted n old plaster walls some areas bonded.

First coat on, nothing to report here. Laid down with same mix. All good.

Moment of truth. Started to flatten with Marshalltown stainless, it’s at this point I could tell this was nice gear. Flattened nicely.

Trowel up same trowel very nice no rips tearing or anything. First time I used it n miss timed so used little water to finish but still nice no problems.

Second gauge same again but finished with no water just wet blade. Very impressed.

Conclusion. It’s very nice gear and the sets were around 2 hours as you don’t need to f**k about with it it finishes really easy. Ran plastic trowel over at end and it all felt like glass.

It sets fast but gradually. Doesn’t flash on you. It’s basically setting like multi-finish but in fast forward.

Will I use it again. Absolutely, already contacted them.

Can’t be arsed to debate the politics that board n multi should be as good as this. We upgrade our phones all the time for the latest more expensive models without crying. All phones work but some work better.

That’s how I’m looking at it. Sometimes board n multi is nice. Sometimes shite. Can always get a finish but sometimes it’s a stress. A stress I don’t need . So if there’s a superior product for a little bit more money I’m all for it.

Also u c**ts should give @Vincey credit for having the balls to try new products. They can’t all be great but I think this one just might be.
Is the plaster pink or white

Tbf it is used on site too , seen a few of the site guys on here say they used it on projects and they said same about quality of it to use
Anyone can order it in or spec it on jobs

Phhhhhh your not even subtle BG snake
@reeves1985 has some up your way mate , drop him a tenner and try a bag would be great to honestly see what you think of the gear
I’m rendering more now than skimming so won’t be discussing anything skimmer related for a while

Used 3 bags this week and it was nice to mix , use and finish. On board it went nice and on an over skim with grit again pulled in nice and finished well.
It was a little cold in the extension so hung a little but when heater put on it was ok again.
Ceiling I did had by today dried out a treat with consistent flat Matt finish as I use a carbon start to finish. Last wall I did was on a floated s&c which I first coated with board and finished with the last of the pure, again it all troweled and fished a treat.I would defo use it regularly but it would have to be at same price as board finish.

I'm sure that most of us would give it a go if it was readily available and the same price as Board Finish. Why wouldn't you?
