26lb+ from the weekend.

Nice one Andy...my biggest for the weekend was 8lbs:(

That's a beauty Andy. Yet to catch anything that big, but hoping to get my first 20 by the end of the year.

What rig/bait were you using?
I always use very simple rigs and quality bait.
Nash The Key with a Chod Twister, knotless knotted to Nash Combilink with no coating stripped.
The most important thing is to put it in the right place and don't expect to catch fish of a size that aren't even in the water you fish. Sounds obvious but you'd be surprised how many people do.

Placement is what im working on at mo...reading the lake bed. Do you use a marker float/rod?

Sometimes but not often.
I spend a lot of time watching the water for any small signs of feeding fish (carp) and let them tell me where they like to be rather than thinking 'oh I must fish on nice clean gravel' or in a particular depth of water.

I went fishing,,,, last bit of land in North of UK,,,, on a charter boat, Shetland.
There was a guy in a kayak on his own. Utter crazy,,,, waters were treacherous, we met him a few days later, he said he nearly drowned that day.
Lol

I love carp but its big barbel I really love :D

Use to only fish for them for years... biggest was 12.5lb

Funny you should mention that. I caught my first Barbel a few weeks back in a pool of all places! Was only about a 1lb wringing wet, but certainly wasn't expecting that :D

Love it :D Ots does get a bit sketchy at times though

Tomorrow on the Trent for me ,hoping for a few barbel,....... river a bit low though need rain

Haven't fished a river in years. Never any particularly local growing up so it was pools and canals. See some absolutely stunning spots driving up and down the country though and should get out of my rut :)
