Dry wall adhesive in multi

Placebo effect I think? Would be nice to know which chemical is slowing it down or making it smoother. Cement sends gypsum off quicker because of the ingredients in it reacting with the gypsum, never known drywall to hang about unless mixed wetter.

It's been a rumour for all my plastering years of 20+

Another piss & wind load of bollox from plasterer does f**k all!

Just like dirty water, pissing in buckets, bla bla bla? Cream of tarter!

It's all in yer F*****g heads!!!

I don’t think dirty water does much really, just sends it off in the bucket quicker. No difference in the walls. Don’t think I could bring myself to use pissy gear

Cream of tartar definitely slows the gear down, no question.

I didn't try this method for slowing down setting , didn't think it slowed it down drastically, I did it for improved workability. Adding a touch of adhesive made it feel more like board finish, a touch creamier and nicer to work. @zombie I always value your opinion , you did after all give us the zombie mix , I'd never heard of it in 20 years and it's been a game changer. Without a doubt the single best tip I've ever received. Had you heard of adding adhesive before and if so had you tried it?

If you add petrol it makes the mix really fast

If you add jam it makes it really sticky

If you add dry roasted peanuts it’s just makes it lumpy

What about salted nuts? And what flavour Jam? Come on now we need specifics

A labourer once dropped the bucket trowel in while I was whisking up :D The trowel acted like a scoop and dumped all the hardwall everywhere then cut the bottom of the bucket off for good measure :D That was a messy day that was :D
Lol! I scooped my phone out the bottom of the bucket once :rayos: didn't know it had fallen in!

I know of a natural retardant that 100% slows a set down for a minimum of 2hours it’s not something I’m willing to share just yet! We’re banging rooms on going onto other jobs then calling back later in the day! It’s truly amazing! Will share when the time is right (y)
