I caught myself almost whining in a post about Christmas gifts earlier, I think you Brits call it whinging. I shouldn't be just finished and got paid for a beautiful apartment renovation in Chartres, a nice long awaited check and an even nicer thick envelope. Stack of HardiBoard to rebuild, damp proof and then skim basically every vertical surface and a ceiling, 3 rooms in wall paper and paint multiple color schemes throughout, take up and replacing tommettes(clay tiles), waxed lime finish in bathroom even some Venetian plaster in the kitchen. All this to say it feels great to be done. Alone living in the site for a week's at a time, medieval town like a ghost town, Damn. Either way this forum and those on it have kept me connected to the real world and laughing, even some much needed job site advice here and there. I'm GRATEFUL. As it's holiday time, why not, I feel like giving back to my fellow White Shirts, working in the trades that have given me everything. It's random but here it is: *Contest * Guess my boot size, brand and how long I've had this current pair, closest one by Friday night wins. This Grinch will play Santa and send out a trade related gift from one working man to another (or other working woman).

I' going with a pair of caterpillar boots, size 9 and you'e jade them 4 years as they last forever.

Great reading your post. Glad you've ot to the end of the job. Also if I win, save your cash and instead buy yourself a drink and raise your glass to TPF

Timberland pro work boots (with a job like that you can afford them) size 10 had them 2 years

Ha, getting closer on the size, I have to remember to add one 1/2 size to your UK sizes. I admit I had to look up what Crocs were. The brand is an American one. Someone got the years right already. Well shoot I salute you all for putting steel to wall and boot to ass everyday. I'm off for tonight but we'll see gets it tomorrow. Cheers y'all

Size 11.5 gum boots ( wellies ) with the tops folded down making em trendy, like when you bought em in the 70's ?

Redwing boots - all rednecks wear them.

Also, as @CeeVee isn't around I'll educate you
1. Color is spelt colour
2. Check is spelt cheque

If I'm the winner please don't send one of your shite 'Curry' trowel...I bought one a few months ago and it's bending the wrong way!

Apart from that 'happy holidays' as you lot say....WTF!

Hmmm so 'getting closer on the size' means we havent already got it....people have guessed from 7 to 11 so you're either the same size boot as my wife or a 12.....

Ok size 12 riggers and had them 2 years...

These! Size 15 Jesus creepers and you’ve had them 3 years. Great for work and play! View attachment 20279
F**k me, just spit my coffee laughing! Sandals and socks, you can say what you want about my accent, my drunken Halloween posts, or even go so far as judging my leather knee pads, but sandals with socks, me doth protest, now that's downright offensive! Hahaha

Well this has been a good laugh. Winners as follow:
@RobJack, yes I've had them 4 years and a few days. Cheers, I'll raise that glass tonight.
@JessThePlasterer, I have owned a few pairs of Thorogoods before, used em for concrete pours as they fit well inside of rubber boots.
@Smudger1, size 11.5 UK is roughly 12 us, and one of my first pairs were used wellies from my old man.
@Lastlaff, redwings are about ten years old, they're sitting in my garage, wear them occasionally, can't kill em and to sentimental to chuck em. As for the spelling, I live in France but when I write on here I revert to American, can't please everyone. I've never heard tell of this Curry trowel, I apologise on behalf of the US ;).
@CeeVee, my size twelve rigging boots are sitting in storage in the states. Got them for a stint of ironworking back in the 2008 downturn. They're ready to come out of the box if the crash comes... Or the zombie apocalypse for that matter!
@Vincey, for being damn close on the years.

Well no one got the brand, but they might not be well known in Europe. Chippewa, size 12 double wide, US, since Oct 1st four years ago.

As for Xmas, winners and posters alike, ha even @zombie who doesn't give a f**k, any one who's brave enough to message me a postal address will receive something for Christmas. I'm not strong on British geography so please don't send a fake address because I probably won't realize and it will be a waste.
Cheers y'all, now onto a stack of paperwork and start the next site Monday morning. White Shirts salute, Trowel in the air.

Fook me WWBRenovations they are some fair plates of meat you got there.[emoji23]
First time I tried to buy boots in France they didn't believe me on the phone, went to the store and the lady wouldn't stop mumbling, "c'est bizzare", and "impossible". First and last time I tried to get boots here. Thank all for the internet and the post service

They have been this size since I was 13, I've heard most of the jokes, love em all.
They save me money as I don't have to rent snow shoes, diving flippers or buy fans in the summer. You couldn't walk a mile in my shoes... Literally you'd trip after 2 steps. Yes my son is going to have some big shoes to fill. I'm difficult to work with cause I'm always steppng on other's toes.

I welcome some new ones.
