How long until dry to screw bracket in?

Hi, I did dot and dab and then skim coat at the weekend, its all gone light and only a few darker patches in some places. When is it dry enough to tighten a bracket on the wall with coach screws going right through into the brick wall behind - for a radiator? When doing the dot and dab I put...

    Mixing plaster

Thanks reeves, Well after a knackering day i cover about 12sqm of the conservatory. I'm pleased with most walls. But unfortunately I did the big wall first 1.8m x 4.2. It turned out ok but was a nightmare to keep up with the drying of the drying times. Will see when it goes lighter but I can...

    Mixing plaster

I was going to do that but it's my first time since I did a course. Will be as quick as I can but thought it was better to mix fresh after the first coat? Didn't want it to end up too stiff. I guess if it was then I could just throw it away and mix up a new load :)

    Mixing plaster

hi, I know 25kg of multi finish covers about 10sqm. My wall is 8sqm so given the second coat is thinner how much of a bag to I mix up for the first coat? A bit more than half or 2/3 ? Cheers!

    Fixing angle bead

Cheers guys, nails will probably be it. Like the idea of staples though, if using staples do they have to be galvanised (if such thing exists) or just ordinary? And I won't be shooting out to whsmiths :) never heard of hook on beads but sound good!

    Fixing angle bead

Hi, I'm fitting my angle beads soon ready for a skim onto plasterboard this weekend. How do you guys normally fix them? I was taught to nail them but can you use drywall screws? I had a look and as the screw head is tapered I think it might stick out too much, unless it pulled in when you...

    Corner Trowel?

Hi, I will soon be plastering a room in my house, just wondered any recommendations on different types of corner trowels? I've got a Marshalltown trowel and i've seen those flexible corner trowels they also do, I can see they are not 90 degrees but may get a nicer finish as I guess you have to...

    Out of date k rend

The date on the krend bag is the production date, not the end of life date http://www.k-rend.co.uk/pdf/bba-cert-com-rend.pdf 2.4 Each bag bears the manufacturer’s mark, batch number and date of production. Each pallet bears the BBA identification logo incorporating the number of this Certificate.

    krend job

Hi guys, Had a krend job done and a stop bead was installed at DPC level with a belcast bead underneath and then also rendered below the DPC level. The stop bead was set in slightly further to the wall and was rendered over and bell cast bead was left exposed. Just wondered if thats normal...
