    The new faster plaster

I use loads of Fast Set and happy to pay the premium. I regulate it by adding board finish if needed. Not for the feint hearted or disorganised, but in the right hands keeps you busy for an earlier finish.

    Plaster without bonding agent/pva

I once did a very similar job to the one described on a hall, stairs & landing. This was before Blue Grit type products, and PVA just ran down the glossy paint. The surface was dimpled rather than stippled, and I coated the walls with Thistle Bonding, then a 50/50 of Bonding/Finish, and then a...

    How are the cheapys fending?

Sorry if that's how it comes over fella! As I said, I do try to keep a months gear in stock due to supply issues. I am presently selling my supply at cost to the builder just to keep the job going. If you could have got a pre warning from Nicola so you could prepare for the next few weeks...

    How are the cheapys fending?

I started reading this thread a few nights ago & got to about page 4 of the same few calling those working "pieces of shite" as well as the usual Tory bashing bollox. At this point I glazed over, and still haven't read the rest ... I will at some point. What their bigotted minds can't grasp is...

    Mixing paddle

I bought a paddle once with more downforce than Lewis Hamiltons car - I'm guessing this was a negative jobbie?

customers telling you what they want to pay

I make it a policy not to engage in "texted" negotiations, and just ignore them - They generally call back after 3 or 4 un-replied texts agreeing to the original quote.

    Tyrolean material

Yep, Ivory and white! Also got some cream from Buildbase last summer to match existing ... which it might with 15 years of weathering.

Might have a go on trowel tomoz

The day does go faster when you are on it! But a nice pottering day with the rattler in one hand and a pair of snips in the other is always a pleasant easy day.

    Old school ,simple

So why don't they just scrap multi, replace it with pure at 8 quid for the elite & leave board finish for the rest of us in the cheap seats? I did 2 jobs in the same day a couple of weeks ago, and I can't tell you just how differently the same batch of plaster behaved from a wet morning to a...

    a ship called dignity

You know the old saying ...... If it fly's, floats or fcuks, it's cheaper to rent by the hour! Utter macho bollox I agree, but I do go by the following; Yesterday is history, Tomorrow's a mystery, Today is a gift - The present! I don't believe the destination is better than the journey ~~~~...

Lets face it, nobody is going to store a pallet of overpriced plaster in their living room in hope that Mrs Jones appreciates the clean air that the 2 and a bit bags used on her ceiling will create. It's all bollox mate! You're being spun a good 'un by the Mothership and first commander Vincey.

    Real plasterers tradesman

It looks like something done in Soweto? ... but I guess not as they at least would have an Afro comb to scratch it properly.

    ignorance

Buy her a chocolate orange, but take some advice; She will open it and take a single segment .. she will then wrap it back up, leave it on show & fcuk off to bed! This is just a test, and should be seen as a bronzed maggot mounted enticingly on a size 18 hook. Cast out & trotted down the river...
