    Boarding over a ceiling

Well I've plastered the other rooms and they've come out ok, and most off those walls are going to be papered over so they didn't need to be perfect. If I was doing the house up to sell it I'd get the pros in. We did get a pro in to do the hall walls because i was finding it tricky and as it's...

    Boarding over a ceiling

Well im not a professional plaster. I did a 3 week nvq course, worked as plasterer's labourer for a year and have done some work for family and friends and my own house. This ceiling is in my nan's house, and she is 87 with poor eyesight, so she won't notice any trowel lines. And she spent so...

    Boarding over a ceiling

Because it's a very old ceiling and a lot of the old plaster has peeled off so can't skim it and don't fancy plastering over the old boards. would be too messy to take it all down because of this horrible loose insulation above it, which i read could have asbestos in, so don't want to disturb it.

    Boarding over a ceiling

No, it's a bungalow. Batten over the ceiling? I have considered that. That's actually what I did with the hall, but that's only 80cm wide by 3 metres. This room is about 3 by 3 metres.

    Plastering over old plasterboard

Well I did a 3 week plastering course and I've done quite a few jobs since, for family, friends and for my grandmother's house that Im currently renovating but I don't do it professionally, I know my limits. I know reboard is the best solution but Im not looking for perfection as it's a spare...

    Plastering over old plasterboard

Hi all Im currently renovating and old bungalow. The ceilings were covered in wallpaper and as I removed it the plaster came off too, so I've scraped all the old plaster off. Just wondered if it is ok to plaster over the old plasterboard? Does it need some bonding coat first like PVA...
