    small holes on plaster

The background was old plastered wall. Previously wallpapered and painted over. Had been up for a long time. When pva was put on some bits dried out quickly. I put more on until tacky. Wondered if an open window could have contributed this to happening.

    small holes on plaster

Plastered a wall in with multi 2 coats and when dry noticed a couple of patches with many small holes on it. Any idea what causes this . Had some problems with wall drying quicker in some bits than others but leaving a window opened on a hot day may not have helped. Had pva with primer coat then...

    Corrosion on carbon steel trowels

I find the ragni carbon steel trowels I have start to corrode and get marked very quickly any time I use it. They are only used occasionally. I clean them after use each time. Is there any way I can stop this from happening. Thanks

    Dark grey bonding type

Top part of wall is board. Most is brick. The band is about a foot from top of room. The band is sitting on top of brick. The top edge joins on to the board if that makes sense. Band only about 3 inches wide

    Dark grey bonding type

Stripped a wall and found a dark grey band round the wall. It appears to be used to level out the wall in the same way an bonding would be used now. I know it is a vague description but curious to know what it is an if it is ok to skim over. It was put up quite a long time ago.

    Just saying hello

My normal work is an electronic technician contractor but industry quiet at moment. Just do occasional plastering but not on a commercial basis and very much one wall at a time.

Thanks for the response. The wall is not very large anyway.

    Just saying hello

Maybe should have put more thought in name. A name can mean different things to different people.

    skimming plasterboard brown side out

Stripped a room today ready to skim. One wall had plasterboard with brown side out and unpainted . It has been on for 10 plus years. I believe this was normal at the time. Wondering if it is ok to just pva and skim on this surface. This is just a small diy project Cheers

    Just saying hello

Been on this site for awhile and thought I would say hello. Very good site with lots of good information. Not a plasterer myself although done some in a diy capacity.
