 No, but printing out that pdf and handing it to a customer when quoting huge sums for lime work might be handy. "This explains why that other bloke was wrong madam. As you can see, with this amount of research behind us we won't be the cheapest, but you can rest assured you'll have the...

    Quality Persimmon homes

That's youngsters with everything now for some reason. Car, van, house, all have to be brand new and if you suggest taking some stuff out of your kitchen or giving them a few bits of furniture when they move out they look at you like you've insisted that they have a bowl of sick for breakfast.

Damp proofing, EWI and other unicorn pubes. ...

Older buildings with solid walls need to breathe. Using impermeable EWI, renders or injecting the walls with damp proofing cr4p stops that and damages the building. Like I said, nothing we didn't know but confirmation from a scientific study.

...... proven to be a load of old bollox. Won't come as a surprise to most the damage done to buildings with non permeable materials, but an interesting read none the less.

    Quality Persimmon homes

I have little sympathy with people getting stung with a new build to be honest. It's the most expensive thing people will buy, yet they do fcuk all research into something which is going to put them in debt up to their eyeballs. It'd be comical if it wasn't so ridiculous. The life expectancy...

    Are we to expensive?

It was just curiosity, I've never worked in the North or Scotland. I imagine that there'd be a fair bit of money in some areas of Manchester and Cheshire, likewise for Edinburgh. Just wondered if there was a change at the border.

    Are we to expensive?

Given that the North of England and South of Scotland are obviously very close, is there any/much difference in rates or costs between the two sides of the border?

    Are we to expensive?

Dead right, and that's the difference between the highest and lowest rates in any business or trade.

    Are we to expensive?

It's morally wrong to accept payment in cash, morally wrong to use promissory notes instead of barter, morally wrong to expect someone to graft twice as hard as someone else yet get paid half as much, morally wrong to value the time of a 30/40/50 year old based on the results of a test they took...

    Are we to expensive?

Which is where 'Caveat Emptor' comes in. If you're buying something and have no idea how much it will cost you get multiple quotes, do some research or don't care/take your chances. If someone quotes a grand for a reskim and the customer can afford it and is happy to pay it there's no con, rip...

    Are we to expensive?

Not really, they'd be expensive. If a plasterer turns up to quote for that room and says to the customer that it will be a grand the customer can accept or decline. It's the same principle for buying anything, I think the legal description is "invitation to treat". The key bit being...
