    Paddle mixers

I have the twister, £100 from screwfix. good mixer with a good motor. shame the paddle is multipurpose, it would mix a lot quicker with a plaster paddle.....but still worth every penny

    Skimming Order ?

I'm much more a take your time guy, I usually work with another bloke and we work ceiling first then opposite walls. I dont like to go quicker than that, because all to often the wall turns out to be unsound, high suction or something else that means you have to move your arse.

    Polished Plaster!

I think I have heard it called that, do you not think it would be possible to teach yourself, surely if you can find out what to mix up the rest would be much the same, or close enough to have a crack at it?

    Polished Plaster!

I saw an example at my old place of work, (small wall 2x2m) I know my old boss paid about £1000 for it 8 years ago. but anyway, I know its made using marble dust and you add colour to it, but as you said you can get a cracking finish with normal plaster if you work it. the idea of this stuff is...

The B&Q by me is massive (gateshead) and full of plasterers so I would guess turnover is high, on the otherhand it is in the trade section and really cold (if that bad???) where else do people buy, I was wondering if you can get it online by the pallet?

    Problem collecting payment

Been doing this for a little while and have had my fair share of people trying to avoid paying the full bill, or repeatedly calling back with tiny issues. but this time I have a guy who wont pay a penny, and is trying to invoice me for a different plasterer (made up) who has had to finish the...

    Skim over Artex??

Hi Hve done quite a few Artex covers, and what you said is spot on....only thing just be prepared to do 2-3 skims to get that perfect finish. I think if you have other rooms to do, set out to do 3 fast skims, rotating rooms, works out a bit quicker and much better finish Gav :-?
