Acoustic insulation

All this for a bit of porn you won't have the energy left after this ceiling is done
Haha it's no just for that. Wife likes to go to her bed early and is a light sleeper so I'm left tip toeing around scared to wake her.

No idea, but I am using acoustic treatment , which is very effective. This is designed to provide excellent sound absorption while enhancing the decoration of any room. Designers are free to choose from a large variety of fashionable fabrics.

In agreement with others above, my vote goes for...

Acoustic insulation, but don't jam it in tight. Needs to be loose to work.
Resilient bar.
As heavy/dense a boarding as you can go, or multiple layers.
For best performance don't hard-join to the walls. Mastic as per @Pagey. Just needs to be air tight.

I planked my dining room ceiling many moons ago. It's 19mm thick but narrow boards so not to painful to fit, though I still made myself a board lifter as I was solo.

For soundbloc on ceiling, you need a board lifter (cheap on ebay and re-sell it, or hire). For 15mm soundblock, you'll also need a priest and a chiropractor.
Fireline should also work as it is more dense, double board it.

Jobs done, this was years ago. She still moans if I play music too loud as tv attached to wall so sound obviously travels up it.

Oops!
Weird, might be new forum or just me being a dick but I didn't notice date!

Have you tried encasing her head in soundbloc?
