Just had a guy out quoting to do my house, large kitchen/sitting room floor and small hall. Price was £30 a m2 labour only and he said it would take him 3 days. Worked it out at over £300 a day he wants, is this right or am I getting shafted? If it is I'm in the wrong job

What type of tiles are they? The tiler i know earns good money. Not sure if its 300 a day good though.

600x600 porcelain polished. Rooms 8m by 3.5 with a kitchen down one end is not many cuts. A few cuts in the hall though

Nothing out of the ordinary then. Have you seen his work?

Your job is gud un he will fly them down get another quote or do it yourself, r u supplying the adhesive as it needs to be flexible which ain't cheap ?

Tiler who did my bathroom just the walls, bath was in, everything prepped, perfect boarding around 2m x 2m, wanted £950, he supplied adhesive and grout. Took him 2 days. Perfect job.

Most quality tilers charge around £30 - £35 a m2...and can earn £300 to £400 a day. Not all jobs are straight forward though as we all know so I doubt they are earning this prepping.

I'm supplying everything, not seen his work but he was recommended. I'll get another couple of quotes and prop end up doing it myself. Been working nights and weekends in here though and getting to the stage I can't be arse hence I thought I'd get someone in.

I charge £25/ £35 depending on tile then with borders it goes up I always supply adhesive but not grout or beads. Got £50 a metre the other week on a job I didn't want :)

That's not bad, when we do oak flooring is anything between 20-50/metre dependant on quantity, 30 quid is reasonable for a tiler, I'd say.

I posted a thread about this a bit back. I heard a similar thing from customers I was working for. They seem to be doing better than plasterers anyways

So why is it the tilers all keep there prices up but plasterers can't? You don't need to look far to find a £60 a shift plasterer but by f**k you won't get a tiler doing that, why is that?

Everyone putting their prices up, plumber replaced a hot water tank a few weeks ago at a cost of 910, tank plus parts cost 250, so 660 for a day is not bad for one person, same would've been 600 last year all in. Sparks charging 400 a day if it's only a few days of work and knocks down a 100 if it's a months of work in one place, he was 2-250 last year, mad that's what it is.

Makes me laugh all the bullshit you read on here about how much plumbers make. If you where going by the forum on average plumbers make about £2000 to £2500 a week lol ffs

The same guy won't be doing that every day though thats most likely a good day. Still be earning a hell of a lot more than a spread though.

A shitty landlords safety cert is 90 quid without service, in and out in 20 min , and that's every year, so repeat business

That wasn't a dig at u zolco. People will say plasterers are making big money. I did a full house last month internal and external labour and materials €22000 did it in 3 weeks. Take tax and materials and wages out of that I made f**k all. The client i did the job for probably thinks €22000 for 3 weeks plastering I should be a plasterer lol
