Flinnyman vs the skimming machine

Flynnyman if your that hyped about it and want to try and prove people wrong it would be a lot easier to ring a few machine lads round your way/close and offer them a challenge. The Loser pays the meterage that both teams have covered to the winner in the day.
If your that confident it won't be an issue, same goes for them.

Or get your teams sorted and find a contractor close who will host it one of there sites. This is more realistic. They get the work done pay the same m2 price and the loser only loses that day's money.
Maybe we could have a whip round so the loser will still earn something.

I think it should be a run of meterage over a few days aswell to give a more
accurate example if it's about speed and finish?
One day/one room isn't proving nothing, you'll win that, most spreads will.

You keep going on about sponsors but it ain't gonna happen. You may get one or 2 but that's it. You won't get BG sponsoring it, it's nothing to gain for them and it's only blokes with cocks out swinging giving it Barry.
The winner might get some free tools from Ryan if there lucky but the way it's going he won't and doesn't need to supply nothing. He's got nothing to prove really, he sells his machines without all this, Same as the PFT guys, they sell regardless .

It's the people without the machines who seem to be making the most noise about man being quicker. I've never sprayed multi but on a days work I'll say man, if you have a week worth I'll say machine.

It's not about proving people wrong read the whole thread also I didn't start the thread. It's about wether it's faster by hand or machine spraying multi that simple. I'm not slagging the machines off Coz I want one for winning, it would be a great day for everyone to get together and have a bit of a laugh when I win do you think people are gonna say the machines are s**t? I think not I think they will be of the same opinion "I could do with one of them they are handy". He would sell more machines by showing the machine on par with some one on the trowel, it makes so much sense. That's the USP so let's show it. Someone mentioned I should give Ryan a machine if I lose that's just ridiculous I am giving my time and taking part without pay and I won't be selling any machines or tools off the back of it. Sponsors should get on board, it's an ideal time to show your products, Ryan has already mentioned all the new tools that help with spraying and they also help with hand applying. British gypsum do have something to gain also they get to sponsor the event they get to show all their products from the metal stud right through to multie it's a no brainier. I bet they would also like to see whether spraying multie works or why it doesn't work. We could also hold a metal stud race then a plaster boarding race I'm sure a few firms would want in on that. @theplasterman what the f**k are you on? Tell you what after you have been down for your training on Friday at head office, I suggest you also go down to Ryan on the machine of his choice and get some practice in because your very confident, so how about you grow some balls and get involved in a proper video?

It would if they could take control, create an event and have final say over everything otherwise forget it.
We're taking about a conglomerate here, not some little shop or supplier up for the craic with everyone else.
There PR Department wouldn't allow it.

I see it no different to say a load of city and united fans asking for Nike or Chevrolet to sponsor a 5 aside game so they can each try and prove who's the better supporters.
It wouldn't happen.

They will have a big say I understand that as long long as we don't get away from the race :) you need to think a bit bigger we are already talking to them:) fair enough they might not hear what we say lol they already have the training facilities so it's all in place it wouldn't be hard to set up and the day would be more than just the race.

I doubt bg will participate in this, it's not a controlled environment, it's not on their turf, they already stated multi is not for spraying. I'd be surprised if any of the machine dealers would be up for it.
I think you missing the point flynnyman, you might be Bob on throwing on 100 m² on the day and all looks sharp as f**k, but you wouldn't be able to do it 7 days a week, the machine won't get tired , won't have days off etc, it's easier on the spread to spray that's all in my opinion, not that I use a machine.

They have stated it and so have I but its Being done so what do we do? Ryan is up for it :) I'm not missing the point I could easily say will that machine still work in 30 years? Can I buy parts in 30 years? But that's a stupid question coz we know the answer. Also will it be able to go to work on its own seven days a week? It's hard on the body whether your spraying or hand applying skim, there is just as much work, fair enough render is a lot harder on the body I've never denied that.

Surely if you get it out for render and hardwall might as well spray innit? Machines will be here forever I think. Do you drive a 30 year old van about or do you change your van accordingly to your needs? It's same with machines and tools change and update and upgrade as and when needed.
How I see it if Ryan up for it, and you as well put your money where your mouth is, split the bill whoever wins will take the glory lol

Funny how everyone gets very personal about their machines and feels like I'm picking on them lol "Leave my machine alone" lol machines will be here forever and so will hand boards it's not about that. The rules have been set I race the machine and the prize is a machine so if I win I get it and to make it fair, if the guy on the machine wins he gets it instead :) Ryan is the one who will gain whichever way it goes ie sales and I'm not paying for glory :)

I'm starting to think you are Ryan, and this is just a cheap marketing campaign lol

That's one mighty F*****g prize for one gauge :numberone:

Flynnybob all I am trying to find out is if spraying will work for me.

Nink an poop
What by having constant digs throughout this thread? How is that finding out if it will work for you? If you had any common sense you would realise, if this race took place you would know straight away if it was for you, regardless of who won. Oh and don't say Nink an poop kids might be reading.

It's the publicity and marketing I'm providing ;) if you think about it I've been working on it for a few nights now so that's got to be included and I shall be working on it till the race so a lot of hours. we are always moaning about pricing jobs and looking at them for free :)

Here is a recent job being completed using Multi Finish and the M-tec M100 - no blockages, not one single issue during the application process.

As you will see, these are large areas, all the work is being completed of a Platform hoist 3 man team - 2 spreads 1 Lab.

These are the type of jobs I refer to, this is where the machine will come into its own.

The speed of application, mixing and the overall system will be far quicker than hand applied on this type of job

Not being funny but i reckon even i would beat a machine on those panels. 1&1. By the time its sprayed then gone back to flatten id be having a fag waiting for it to pick up. They look about 5 buckets a panel

i reckon your lying there Ian.........

I'm sure you don't smoke!!!

Materials, boards, the area, people to set this up, organising time etc. Ensuring there is power and water available - we did a demo day at our place and it cost in time and materials (food as well) about £1800.00 - that's half the size of what this would be and far less material
Your own fault for serving up Lobster and Beluga Caviar washed down with Champagne :rayos:

I have just the place :)

@flynnyman what whisk will you use? Id thoroughly recommend the COLLOMIX XO6 with quick release paddle as standard.
And if ur forced to do this on urr tod. Id probably use the COLLOMIX bucket clean as a treat.

Would I??

seen a guy making his own the other day.

How does that work ian with the mush that gets produced at the bottom and how long will those bristles last before they need replacing? I'm guessing you sell spare Brushes in that lock up of yours?

The bristles dont reach the bottom of the bucket, you just wash the bucket out when you're done. The brushes are made from the hair of the PFT horses tail, so will probably last forever
