Hi. Welcome.

Where the best place to find out about your products?

I've been asked quite a few times about insulated plasters.

Welcome Alexander.
So is the material to be manufactured in the UK or just imported like a lot of the other stuff??

Hi. Welcome.

Hello Bob,

Thanks for your warm welcome!

The best place to find out about the Bauwer insulated plasters and renders would be visiting our web site at http://bauwer.co.uk

You could also order couple of free bags of Bauwer insulated plaster, for a trial, by simply letting me know if you would like to try it.

Now few words about Bauwer itself, it is light-weight (280kg/m3) due to the Perlite and Vermiculite fillers, delivering outstanding coverage of 1m2 at 25mm thickness from just one 25L bag. This makes Bauwer one of the most economical ways to level and insulate the walls, internally or externally. Bauwer is strong (compressive strength 2,19 N/mm2; bond strength 0,5 N/mm2) and very easy to apply, no significant difference in application techniques vs traditional plasters and renders.

The feedback from a professional UK installer was: “We applied 50mm of Bauwer Light to the block wall, building it up in passes to establish if the product would roll under the trowel. The product showed no signs of any rolling and we could have gone on a lot thicker. Very easy to use and finished well enough that just a paint coating could be applied. The internal product, Bauwer Standard, was equally as good in our opinion as Bauwer Light”.

Bauwer products are High Quality, CE certified for the UK and EU, manufactured from sustainable naturally occurring volcanic glass, perlite and vermiculite, it is non-toxic, harmless, and safe. Bauwer products are vapour permeable (breathable), which prevents condensation and therefore makes it ideal plaster for dehumidification purposes. Bauwer delivers a lower consumption rate, £ per square meter vs traditional renders and plasters, generating considerable cost savings.

Bauwer is still relatively new in the UK while it is a product of choice in Poland, Czech republic, Baltic countries and central Europe as well. There are several Bauwer projects on going in the UK and Germany, and we posted numbers of photos on our web site. All initial feedbacks were highly positive so far.

Please let me know if you need any further information!

Have a nice day,

Best regards, Alexander.

Hello Dan,

That’s correct; Bauwer is still relatively new to the UK :)

Could you please let me know if you would be interested to try free Bauwer sample product? I could ship couple of bags from our storage location in Bournemouth, which is not far from you!

Best regards, Alexander.

Hello Marshy,

Thanks for your question!

We are considering opening a manufacturing facility in the UK, subject to the sales forecast.

Currently Bauwer produced at the state of the art, modern manufacturing facility, on the fully automated manufacturing line, which was specifically designed for dry mixes with light fillers.

Bauwer Group has developed and implemented innovative production processes of inorganic mineral fillers, the Bauwer technology is protected by patents in the EU.

Bauwer products are high quality and conform to the requirements of standards EN 988-1:2010.

During the process of creating new products and improving its quality, Bauwer is working closely with specialists of the leading research institutes.

Please let me know if you need any further information! Thanks.

Best regards,

Alexander.

Been on the web site looked at the photos and to be honest the quality of the workmanship is not really doing your product any favours in my humble opion

Gotta love this place. A product manufacturer actually takes the time to not only come on and introduce themselves but is willing to send out free bags for people to try and as usual people just want to piss on it.

It says on your site no need for specialist skills and no training needed? I would say rendering is one of the most skilled parts of being a plaster. It doesn't say how you finish it or I missed it, it just sounds like a backing coat internally. Oh and welcome

In my humble opinion many current EWI and IWI systems in the UK are overpriced, therefore creating a business opportunity for Bauwer to deliver the highest quality and lowest cost Insulated Renders and Plasters to our customers in the UK.
I have to agree on that, material prices a lot higher here, that definitely creates a gap in the market. You can get complete ewi systems for 2-3quid/m²

We are working on better photos for the website gallery. The photos were taken in the middle of a project (in central London). Once the project is complete, we’ll visit the site to re-assess.

Sounds like he needs to do a new website featuring some of the forums favourites? ?? :rayos:

Certainly we’ll rebuild our gallery with the new photos very soon. So far we received a very good response on the free Bauwer samples delivery from The Plasterers Forum.

Hello Phil,
Yes, a reasonable response so far.

Could you please let me know if you'd like some few bags of Bauwer to be sent to you as well. If you could just confirm your application, eg. internal or external, and a delivery address. Thanks.

Your help in reviewing Bauwer products at The Plasterers Forum is highly appreciated.

Regards, Alexander.

Noted and corrected on the website, thanks for your input! The key message should be that Bauwer application is not significantly different in application vs traditional renders, so no extra skills or training required, on the top of traditional rendering skills, which takes years to master!

Could you please see the link to the Bauwer Light Insulated Render method statement with step by step application process, including finishing process with Bauwer Finish:
http://bauwer.co.uk/templates/Default/images/BauwerLightMethodStatement.pdf

The outer Bauwer Light layer is protected from exposure to adverse weather conditions with a coating of Bauwer Finish or other decorative vapour permeable render or façade paint. The silica, silicon or acrylic silicon based paints are characterized by high vapour permeability and recommended for use in breathable Bauwer EWI system.

Cheers just read it so can your finish be troweled to a finish the same as multie? I see it says you can use it with a primer what about a key on its own similar to most backings? Is the primer used to control the suction? You can skim it next day? It's nice you have came on with confidence in your product and answered all the questions in an honest way. You have took onboard advise ie your pics look s**t and also taken away the idea that anyone with no experience can do it the. You have put yourself on the line and run a comp involving the members, it's rare a firm comes on who is interested in people's opinions and prepared to take action :) I will warn you now, there will be plenty more but in an honest way lol

Hello and thanks for your questions re Bauwer application process!

That’s correct, Bauwer Finish works in the same way as traditional finishes, really no differences here. It is critical that Bauwer mortar applied to a pre-wetted surface, which is why surface has to be well moistened before application of Bauwer mortar. The main purpose of a primer is similar to above, eg. restricting water absorption (suction) and therefore preventing accelerated drying of applied Bauwer mortar. Accelerated drying could potentially lead to cracking, therefore pre-wetted substrate surface is essential.

The typical process would be applying Bauwer Light first day and Bauwer Finish the day after. In colder temperatures it is recommended to apply Bauwer Finish on a third day.

Bauwer philosophy is that we want to understand demands and expectation of our customers well, so we could offer you the best products and service. And if something needs adjustment, like method statement or even the product formulation, we are happy to looks into it, and take an action if necessary.

I Like Bauwer already [emoji106]

Will PM you hopefully for some samples??

Welcome along [emoji106]
