Looked at it again online and I'm interested in doing it here where I am thou don't really want to advertise it down the route as same as videos I've seen on YouTube. To much messing about with magnets to hang a TV and large picture.

I'm going to contact schools, nursery's to see if their interested. One thing thou, whats the best way I can approach this. What is there that'll stick on the wall the nursery and school would be interested in.

Any other tips for advertising this plastering and who else would be interested in it.

Check out @first4magnets hail hail for your magnets and phone them for advise on which to use they are top draw.

If you look at pictures or look round schools most of the student work is on the walls and gets changed regularly this is a good market to aim at.

Good shout, will give them a call in the coming days. Some good magnets on that site and could also make few squid selling the magnets as well.

Thinking I could make a good return on this if I market it right.

If you want to approach schools etc get a dbs check (CRB) don't think they can allow you to work on the premises till you have one.....although dont know the irish rules....about £55 for one over here.

One of the best ways I found when approaching the schools is tell them about the savings and the benefits to the kids and teachers. Explain that tape, drawing pins and blue tack is not needed, which in the long run will save money, you might not think a lot coz its quite cheap but not what schools pay. Also the walls won't need decorating every time the Tape or pins cause damage when they change the display. One of the benefits for the teachers and the pupils which a teacher mentioned to me, is every time they made something then displayed it, once they had finished they threw it away, but if it was magnetic they could use it over and over again. One of the schools I done was a special needs school in an autistic classroom, they would spend hours making the display for one kid to come and pull the lot off ruining it, but with it being magnetic is wasn't a big problem to sort out, most of her kids could fix it. When I did the room for my kids they were practising spelling and counting with numbers and letters, if they spelt it wrong it wasn't a big drama, as is was before when they were learning, it was just a case of moving one word or adding another which saves so much stress. Just a few points to mention to schools ;)

Am going to use magnetic plaster on my walls b4 I learn to spell.

Phoned gypsum and was talking to their head office and their agent for where I am and no one is using it here. They can get me it no probs. Might be onto a nice earner if I can market this right. Will defo be looking into it more. Going to get a few bags and throw few walls on in my own house and play bout with a few ideas for showing customers.

One thing that crossed my mind thou, what bout them poor fcukers with pace makers in. Will it effect them if they are anywhere near it and does magnetic walls have any effects on ones sleep if one was sleeping right beside it.

Another bloody conning thread !!! I thought it was going to be a video of Magneto from X Men doing plastering moving the trowels around with out stretched arms and not touching them but being in total control!!!?? Then Wolverine makes a cameo doing the scratch on a scratch coat :birra: the Hobgoblins kicking in now cheers :birra:

It becomes a place where you stick your shopping list or whatever :) We use to have a pin board in our kitchen at home :D

Thought so but the fcukers here would probably try it themselves here.

As for the bags of stuff. How long can they sit for before going off?

The bags are really good bags similar to the ones cement comes in the plastic ones. Like anything if you keep it in a dry place should last asking as any bag of plaster maybe a bit longer coz of the bag.

Two bags is needed 5m per bag so do the maths if it was 6m you could go tighter along the top but no point in stretching to 9m it won't be as strong.

If its 5m per bag, I should just throw the 2 bags onto the wall and give it that extra bit of thickness. Can i get away with PVA or does it have to be blue grit over the skimmed wall.

You can use either. I prefer the grit. Scratch it on with a bag and a bit then use what's left to lay it in with

PVA it is then seeing as its my own gaf because that grit ain't cheap where I am. If i remember correctly, its 45euro a tub!

Wondering now how much gypsum will charge me in euros for per bag. I could see it being well over 100euro for each bag :(

Stop being tight and get ya hand in ya pocket man

I'm that tight these days my arse squeaks when I walk! :bailando:. If PVA will do, then its going on my wall lol. Either that or will wait untill one of my customers needs grit and I'll take the left overs :envidioso
