Help, advice, what went wrong...

recently had a squad of plasterers in to scratch, bond , skim upstairs of a new build, all block work and external walls were dry lined with insulated board. The main guy came recommended , his ' team ' have let him down I'm guessing. Basically we have been left with uneven, waved walls all over. Certain spots the level can actually rock 1-2cm on the walls.
He is denying anything is wrong, but going to try a sanding machine which I know has no chance of sorting this. He says there is nothing else he can do except for starting again, removing all plaster , ceilings etc which he is not prepared to do and there is no fix. Finish is 99% perfect, it's what is under which wasn't levelled before the final skim finish went on I'm guessing
Can this be fixed ? Any help appreciated

So what tolerance to you have on float an set them lads ???

if i remember correctly the british standard ,which is low quality , states that you can have a bow of 10mm over a 2m straight edge, in the centre of the wall.
 
False light pictures do exaggerate it as I stated previously, but it's there to be seen in natural daylight, paint was s**t I agree. Just threw on quickly on a small patch

I thought it was 5mm tolerance..put pics up in natural day light then we will cum bk with more info..or just put the light on

As said standard doesn't look great but a decent painter could fix that. The walls that are bad need filled out with bonding and reskimmed. It's hard for us to comment on a job with a few pics as we don't know the full story but try work with the plasterer to arrange a solution as I think it will cost you getting another squad in.
 
95% of the walls are wavey, most of the gaps are at the edges and top of walls where they meet ceiling and adjoining walls. Can you bond directly onto skim? Can you skim directly over the skim that's already there?
Have a meeting lined up with another plasterer at the weekend to get his thoughts , suggestions
 
Plumb not level for floating depending on what's pre arranged...

If level I put screeds every 600mm and rule them off...but that' guns cost or economy price is float to background but flat and plumb...

Easy for anyone to slag work but could be block work all over and if not priced to put right sometimes you get what you pay for but that's when communication comes in at the point of pricing etc
 
The other thing I thinking is a bit fishy about this thread is that @Marshy hasn't commented at all on it

Go f**k yourself lol i actually agreed with @keithuk post as was a tollerance of 3 -5mm when i went to school as it were in the 80's if its 10mm now ?? No wonder why the trade is in such a mess plus no tits or beer

You can bond and skim directly onto existing plaster.
 
Still waiting on natural daylight pics and a normal light

Would any good plasterer leave a wall wavey whether or not it could been seen. Certain areas inside a 1m level I can almost fit my finger down the back of the level. Surely that is not acceptable. 3 or 4 trades that have been on site albeit not plasterers but have been about enough to know right from wrong, have ALL said they are pretty bad. As long as they are fixable without starting over I'm sure something can be worked out

No just sick of people coming on here with stupid pictures with torches as a light..shine a light against a brick,plasterboard anything and it looks rough..its easily sorted with bonding ruled off in ur hollows then re-skimmed..its not just aimed at u its any1 who pops up with a pic with a Mobile phone torch and saying is this rough etc come on with normal light pics and wudnt of said owt..hope it gets sorted and lesson learned dont pay up til ur happy
 
On the pic with the door frame, is the frame in straight, if not and he worked of the frame then the wall will be out and get worse over the length of the staright edge. if the tops and bottoms are out id just say t hats someone not to experienced on floating, as we all know skimmers are not plasterers, and plastering is a trade.

I luv abit of float and set its proper plastering all I used to do wen 1st started there's no money in it these days tho its slave labour on wat contractors try paying you about 4 years ago wen reccesion was here I was floating for £5.50 a m2 the thief..
 
I wudnt do a extension m2rate personally I wud put day rate in..only do price if there's enough to go at floating its crept up to £6 now but shud be between £7-£8 in my opinion as its hard graft but its proper plastering
