Been looking for a new trowel for a while now too replace my nela s*p*r*lex. It leaves the wall looking mint but any bumps or high spots it doesn't pull them out. So after a bit of research I stumbled across the duraflex which I ordered and arrived today. First impressions are its got more flex than my normal MT but still feels rigid so hoping this will be the mutts nutts. Anyone got any feedback on these bad boys?

Surely its a bit late for feedback when you've already bought it? If 30 people say there shite your not going to bin it are ya.

Its a trowel, use it if u like it stop if u dont. [emoji106]

The DuraFLEX is more suitable for flattening than a s*p*r*lex. If you flatten with your NeLa SF it will just glide over instead of flattening. Its purely a finishing trowel mate

That new Nela is an awesome piece of kit if im honest. Just bought an 18" Refina superted and i get the new Nela version to try and im giving them both a fair "out of the box" trail. Up to now the Nela wins only criticism is the rubber handle is same colour as my bell end o_O

We've started to flatten again with Mt then give it 2 finishes with nela..il never flatten with a s*p*r*lex again

Got a nela2 last week.
Impressed but as said before it is a good trowel but it is finishing only if wall is bang flat.

The mark 2 mate the first one was too flimsy and fell to bits

Mark 2 is class for finishing and brilliant to use just need to make sure u dnt let it do all the work as looks a pigs ear If u do as I found out 1st time I used it

At the end of the day the Nela Mk2 is f**k**g brilliant plus machined better than the Refina (no slight scratches etc) only hope it doesnt fall to bits? Im not telling anybody what to buy etc but what i will say is i bought my lad a Refina superted along with a new one for me and had i used this new Nela Mk2 first id have re ordered accordingly this new Nela is very very good :birra:

What are you talking about man!? Its class but its s**t etc?? Make your mind up pal :birra:

Is that the one you helped design or was it the mediflex?
I wouldnt say i helped design it that would be a lie what i did point out on the initial promo pics was that it was wrong (ie the tang too long) so you could not use the heel and toe at all. So i was sent one to try and just bought a new Refina almost the same time. Im not arsed what other people think but i know what works and what doesnt :birra:

Ma
Isn't the initial post a Duraflex which is MT ?
mate it dsnt matter wat the initial thread was as you know these threads jump from 1 thing to another we've had threads b4 starting with starting a plastering course to finding the best prozzie hot spots

I second coat my skim using a superted and always been a die hard refina fan (still am) but i cant lie when Nela have produced almost the same trowel but better machined and slightly more flexible in my opinion :birra:

And im very proud to be the starter of that thread (y)

Do you use the medi flex for everything other than laying on? or are you then meant to swap to s*p*r*lex after flattening second coat
