Recently I was sent a few samples of ExtraTime plaster retarder sachets. I had a good think about how to test this new product; I thought that I could spin up two batches of plaster, one with ExtraTime in, and put on some walls.

isn't tar tar the same or trisodium citrate ? - never had much call for adding more time to a gauge -

In january il throw everything into the mix....after 2 weeks of partying I always forget how to plaster.
Experiened spreads....not in 1st week of january.......(unless your some plastering pervert) ☺☺☺☺

I suppose what I'm saying is "it's no a new thing " most spreads know how to speed up or slow down a mix - with things bought easily & cheaply from a super market - but rarely do

Do @BritishGypsum advocate this gear?

We are aware that there are additives promoted suggesting use is ok with British Gypsum plasters to extend the working time of the plaster. British Gypsum cannot in endorse any additives, and, because we cannot guarantee the long term strength of the product, we cannot provide any warranties given to plasters that have been used with an additive

But if you were making the product you wouldn't be long endorsing it [emoji12]
Of course they don't stand over PVA, do they make it? No, they'll not stand over anything they don't make profit on.

They don't have to endorse it though flynny, they just have to admit that it will work!!
Like PVA & scrim ffs!!

It's accepting part of the blame if it goes pear shaped that's the problem. If @BritishGypsum dont endorse PVA what did they recommend on reskims before pregrit was available?

It's plastering and reskimming is a big part of it, I can't think of another product in the last 30 years apart from PVA, it was also taught in my apprenticeship in the science lesson.

Are you trying to say they stand over it or not?
