Don't know if I posted this before but I know I've been thinking it anyway.

What's the work like where you are in the country. I've been hearing stories from other tradesmen saying conflicting things. A few saying the money is great and lots of work and there's others saying monies sh1te and not much work about, and anything there is, our eastern friends in Europe are taking it all because they are working for fcuk all.

Even here in my own country I'm speaking to tradesmen who are desperate to leave the scene and others who have been really busy all year. Me, I've had a great year since last Oct thou feeling a bit deflated because have only a week and half's work and nothing booked in or no phone calls. I know its usually like this at xmass time so hoping the phone will start to ring again come Jan. TBH, I f**k**g detest this time of year work wise because ya never know what's happening.

Hopefully 2016 will bring plenty more work like it did this year but I've a feeling I might be hopping on a plane if there's work over in UK for me.

North West is the Plasterer Capital of the U.K.! I keep busy but the quality of the work could be a lot better. Lose a lot of good work to chancers and rough arses working for peanuts.

North west sounds good! Isn't that liverpool, Manchester etc... Have heard on tge grapevine that the women from there love a bit of the aul Irish c0ckel after hearing our accents. Not that I'd do such a thing seeing as my feet are well truly nailed to the floor from this one I'm with now :(

As for the work, what sort of wages does one come out with after a weeks work. What's the rent, food costs like as well?

I had 2 verbals that had few months work, ended up losing it to our foreign friends and could have had another large wall but someone completely undercut us. Very deflated to say the least.

We're busy but alot of spreads who I've spoken to are saying lits of site work about but the big companies are paying as little as £2.50 walls and £2.75 ceilings
I think they drop there rates before xmas cos they know the men need the wage .

I'm in the north west of Kildare and have to say it's been the best year for a long time for work.As for the money it's still sh..e.I'm not going to bulls..t you because your a family man like myself.I'd be doing well to get €130 a day out here on waltons mountain and if I'm in Dublin maybe €160.And that's through the books.I don't have any competition from foreigners in my local area because they haven't a fcuking clue about the Irish way of plastering and as well as that most people in the countryside are racist and don't trust them.

september to christmas is the busy time of year as the domestics need every thing done as they done nothing all year and have upteen people calling round on boxing day!
the city get their bonus in january so it becomes harvest time, then the councils need every thing finished by april and so the year goes on.

That yell.com is s**t we did well on it but its not worth all the pointless calls you get,I once had 1 of them ring me to patch a wall in and re-do his kitchen ceiling I said have u had a quote already he went ye £80 but thought that was expensive I just laughed and said snap his hand off and put phone down 9/10 calls you get are pointless

Been a cracking year for us in Glasgow and surrounding areas. Gang of 3 domestic only probably had about 10 days off all year.

Summer was probably 70% dashing and render jobs. ching ching!

Glasgow defo sounds interesting but have heard the wages aren't great and there isn't that much work going. The place is f**k**g mental but sort of know the place so its a place I would defo head to next year.

If you've got a good name and reputation you can make very good money as people who have been stung before don't mind paying to get the job done right. There's always the arseholes out working for beer money but I've yet to come across one I would have working for me. They're either rough as a badgers arse or their work is decent enough but they're messy c**ts.

Been good in Kent for Mono and still coming in ,long may it last
Were thinking of getting into mono and k rend etc..is there a massive difference in using k rend? That mono is taking over isn't it? We've never done it but seen it done it looks a piece of piss we do sand cement and dashing but getting out of that as its s**t..I know of firms paying between £11-£13 sqm2 which sounds s**t to me that's y we havnt really got into it as of yet..on your own job we could charge between £28-£33 m2 materials and labour is there serious money to be made in it? Just curious
