Hi All

Please can anyone advise on average , how many m2 an experienced plasterer can cover in an 8 hour day , skimming on plasterboard.

This is for one man , including mixing , scrimming and very minor preparation.

Reason I ask , I had a plasterer on a day rate and he is doing on average 11m2 per day.

Thanks guys

How much a day are you paying him. And how much experience does he have

Depends on the area. Today I probably only done about 12m2, most of the day was spent sorting a scaffold ready for plastering an awkward staircase. Last week I had easy areas with nothing in the way and managed around 40m2 and that's probably quite low coverage compared to some guys on here

All depends on the coin you are paying if he's cheap than that's y ur getting 11m2 which is very low probably just 1 bag! God knows how he's stringing that out all day tho it is taking piss like but not if ur paying sumat stupid like £80 a day

11 metres is fine as long as he leaves it really really shiny. It's not the quantity that matters, it's the shinyness
He must of left it really really really really shinny with putting 11m2 on..bet he walked doggy dog on it about 1000 times as was prob bored shitless

£80 a day lol

I think it all depends on the money your getting obviously if your mans got no work on he's doing the work on a real good price and taking his time!

But if he's only doing that much in a day there's reason number 1 for not having work on or reason number 2 he's not very experienced

Thanks for the replies, Im paying £125 per day for an experienced guy.

If he's only getting done what you say he is what's he doing? Is there furniture to work around? Is there anything from stopping him from cracking on?

If there was a pack of wolves in the room the guy shud still be able to put more than 11m2 on..is it in ur house? R u there whilst he's working?

Don't think I've ever worked 8hours a day in my life  5- 6hrs a day is more than enough.

My days are usually like this:
•6hrs work
•6hours drinking
•6hours Internet
•6 hours sleep
(y)

How many M2 on an avarage can be expected from an experienced plasterer? Whats a resonable day rate for 8 hrs?

Thanks
