PTLLS course

Don't know what it costs, got mine paid for but a quick search of your local college will let you know. The course was for 12 weeks 1/2 days and some homework which is much easier if you are doing a bit of teaching. If your not why the hell are you thinking about it?

I was told that PTLLS is a first step basic teaching cert, I've been left school many years and done no teaching at all, but been told if I get the cert there will be a job for me in Plastereing (teaching practical) but I feel I would struggle doing the course, plenty of life skills but not much of it in education lol.

Just be careful, lots of colleges going down this route and paying workshop assessors £12 ph and they expect you you to do the cert ed, that's another story that I really want to forget, do lesson plans etc. and the assessors get less holidays.
Find out what the terms are before you go down this route, lots of lecturers are leaving because they are fed up with fe so might be an opening in the future for you

hi
the PTLLs is a first step to a teaching cert -- this can be taken at level 3 and level 4 these lead up to the Cert Ed. Both levels involve practical presentations and written assignments, just be aware if you take this route you will be expected to teach theory as well as practical especially if you are covering sick leave. good luck if you decide to take up the teaching route.

I did PTLLs last year at newcastle college. I did the intensive course over 2 weeks. Its a bit of a head fu@k being back in the classroom but i really enjoyed it. Its a canny bit of research involved for the written assignments. I enjoyed the presentation at the end. Had some help off a few people on here :sisi:.............i wont name and shame them cos they are on the dark side.................:bailando:. Cost was £300............i would defo recommend newcastle college

i thought you were keeping it a secret, you were looking at the dark-side of plastering:inocente:

Did my Level 4 a few years ago now 3 months of evening classes twice a week at Doncaster college , enjoyed it.
It's there if I decide to use it and I have employed some of the skills learnt on my Wallcrete sessions and in my work place.
