Nice work was you using the micro cement on the floors and have you got any finished pics?

This was on a large wall mate. Ive got pics on phone but need puta to upload from photo bucket to here.
The pics are already on the facebook page though. We do put it on floors. The new unit at darwen has micro on most of the floors. Again pocs are on facebook

Amazing stuff pal!
how long have you been doing Venetian plastering rob & have you got enough work to
do it full time or do you do other plastering in between jobs to keep you going?

Not been doing it very long. About 18 months. Its a bit hit and miss with work. I have a google ad running at mo and getting a few more calls and enquiries. When not doing venetian im doing regular plastering. Hpoing for the venetian to become full time and move away from skimming entirely though

Cheers. Theres a wetroom from a while ago definately on there mate. Will get some of the new centre on here when I get a min.

What's the centre?

A new training and distribution centre for venetian plaster. Its located on m65 in Blackburn. Set to open on 26 April. Thr product for distribution is called Impex. not sure if i can put thecompany name on here incase it looks like im trying to get a free plug.

Heres the pics from the micro cement job in fleetwood. The owner was either the manager or owner of fleetwood football club

primed and ready. well apart from the tv area in bottom mid. plaster still wasnt dry

close up of top half of wall

Its all about the MICRO management ha ha

Bottom half of wall primed. nice feature with floating shelves and tv surroundings

First coat applied

first coat all dry. Light sand back before second coat

second coat gone on

bottom half after 2 coats

nice floating shelf texture detail

What's it sealed with and does it make it water proof or resistant?

Oikos product Ferro protectivo. We also put some glitter into it too. You cant see it in pics but has a very subtle glimmer when stood in front of it.

The tin actually sats scratchproof water proof/resistant so im not sure if its both or not

It turned out the designer cocked up. We had given them two samples one of micro cement and one of polished plaster. They picked the micro cement and off we went. When it was all done theytold us it was the wrong one. Their mistake. Can it be rectified. Without sanding back the top sealer and applying a polished plaster process we managed to get hold of this product. Its a crocodile wax used for granite. One coat and then a buff. Complete transformation and they are happy again. The product has a high water base repellent and ontop of microcrment its about as water proof as it will get

Is that shoe polish? :p

No mate. Although I was talking with my partner a while back as to whether boot polish would work. I wondered if bulling boots would work in the same principle. Ive still yet to try this. Will do a sample board within the next month and post results here

@ryanswart im not mate. Boot polish is wax based. It I was to do a polished plaster in black then the possibility that boot polish would work is quite high . Will try it as soon as poss.

Not tried boot polish yet but will have a play soon enough. There is plenty of work if you can find it. The training co. I do some work with is a new business due to open this week. Hopefully they turn into a big outfit. Its also a distribution centre for venetian plaster. I learned from and have done a lot of work with one of the blokes whos set it all up.

went up to Applicart this afternoon to lend a hand in getting it ready for the opening on friday. A little bit of fettling around and then did these two small wall shows. They were already based out in first coat of white polished plaster (stucco veneziana i think)

The second coat get a wet on wet process in this lovely orange colour

Drying nicely

nearly dried out

the wall on the left used the same product but i applied it differently. Its just to show how you can achieve different end results with the same prioduct

It has a mottled finish

went back to Applicart today to help out some more. There again tomorrow too and I still dont think everything will be finished in time for the opening.

Waxed the two polished plaster features upstairs. The one to the right had a gold wax applied with trowel

The one to the left had a natural wax trowel applied

Did some ceilings

BEFORE

First coat of polished on inner ceiling

First coat of marmorino pasta media to drop ceiling

These two columns recieved a marmorino Naturale

all three surfaces had the identical tone colour but three different products. I learned today how to mix the toners with the base products using very sensitive scales which give a reading increase when you breathe on the surface.

Closer shot of the ceilings. The inner has dried out. the outer is showing the texture that will grin through on the second coat

This one is for @Plasterers1StopShop

Floor has already had a couple of coats of featherit to get it somewhere near where it wants to be.

Heres the application of microcement

And heres the money shot. Should have zoomed in on the trowel stamp

and the finished first coat.

Cheers Ryan. not managed to get on the walls this week due to doing this but the trowel loves microcement on the floor

Glad your getting on with the trowel. On my way to Germany as we speak, I will show them the photos.

Keep up the good work, Cheers for your comments.

What are you sealing it with and what's the finish gonna be ie polished or Matt?

I think its called hard water. Comes in two parts that get mixed together. The floor is smooth to touch but once its sealed I think it may look more matt. I have a sealed sample board in the van but the floor will get done this evening by John. Hes pulling a late one again. Will get more details on the sealer for you

There will be two courses available mate. A venetian course where you learn about 7-8 different finishes and a seperate micro cement course.

Back in London to finish off a wall that wasn't plastered or ready last time. Also ended up re doing an original wall due to a cock up by foreman on site. He said it needed sanding and redoing. He knows **** all about plaster. After sanding it back the owner of property went ballistic as she loved it. Rang the foremans boss and he got a severe bollocking. Anyway here's a couple of pics
