Yes defo pal. I must admit I take a lot of convincing to try new things but to be fair to the lads on here they pretty much sold the idea and concept so instead of just sitting there thinking its all bol*locks !? I felt I had to try this"magic" trowel for myself :RpS_biggrin:

I will see what all the hubbub is about Monday and will post my findings accordingly lol :RpS_laugh:

I never use water to trowel, the only time I use a water brush is to keep my trowel clean and to give my internals a clean once they're cut out:)

Dan i agree with you and as i said i cant believe it so had to order one and try it myself. The trowel doesnt feel much different in weight to my m/t stainless?? Kind of like a little kid waiting to play with new toys lol :-D

I'm using The Plasterers Forum Mobile App

Reskim one of your walls at home marshy?
Already did the hall stairs and landing before Christmas Dan lol. Missus waited over 2 year for that !!:RpS_laugh: I've got an easy room all boarded just to skim on Monday so will "christen" my "Jessop" trowel on that :RpS_thumbup:

Just so I've got it straight, the idea is to go over your gauge/set earlier than you would if using the water and trowel method that I've been used to all these years? :RpS_confused:

Think its something id have to see done
Your just gonna av to believe me dan, if I'd of use water when the old man was teaching me it would of ended up in a big row, I can Apprieciate what he's saying now but I couldn't when I was an argumentive 17 year old .

Im im im. Confused. I thought i knew how to plaster

Now i dont know who i am! Lol
Like I said Dan I've heard too much about these trowels from various spreads on here who clearly know their stuff so I thought sod it I'm going to give it a go and see what all the fuss is about? I'll be the first to hold my hand up if it works just like the lads are saying? Seeing is believing they say so roll on Monday :RpS_biggrin:

use it for the whole set marshy,, i hope you like it after everything we"ve said about them,, your"ll love it

As soon as I get home from using it I'll be posting my opinion :RpS_wink: might use the forum app on my phone if I'm really impressed and can't wait to get home lol :RpS_laugh:

One particular spread i worked with when i was a young'n hammered it into me (not literally :RpS_laugh:) the less water you use the better the finish you will achieve back then i was allowed to dip me brush in the water once and once only cos "your the apprentice" or there was holy fook to pay :RpS_laugh:

Marshy get on it just a little sooner then you normally would, dont open the angle of the blade too much, and perhaps slighty slower stokes then usual , as a new s*p*r*lex can occasionally judder a little.
Enjoy :RpS_thumbsup:

Well the slower stroking bit sounds good?? But anyway back to the trowel lol think first gauge I will just flatten and trowel up and second gauge (if am impressed?) I'll second coat as well as trowel up with it ? Cheers pal :RpS_thumbup:

F ucking hell marshy uve got me thinking about getting one now after reading all the posts on here, grrrrrhh, lol

I can't wait but a lot of you lads say they are really good and make the job easier so be daft not to at least try it? Otherwise no point in asking others advice and so on? :RpS_thumbup:

Do they do 11/12/13 inch ones
I think so pal, I only got the 16" as its the same as my m/t and am used to that size etc each to their own like but must admit even just holding it (the trowel !!) It feels ace and really hoping all the hype is justified :RpS_laugh:
