it comes up nice, using it twice is new to me as I would use it to flatten once but thought I could save myself some elbow Greece by doing 1st wet trowel with it... like I say though.. I dnt use it all the time and the way I use it vairys depending on how it hangs. thanks for comments

lay on first, speedskim, lay on second, speedskim, trowel with mt then two passes with a plazzi.
i took a chunk out my plazzi last week so after reading a couple of threads on here im gonna try the s*p*r*lex and gonna get another plazzi.
Iv started working this way after joining this damn forum :RpS_unsure: i seem to buy and try anything they talk aboooooooooot :RpS_cool:

Fair play to you Dan for filming and posting that, I really like the principal of speedskim but still have my doubts. That said though I was a doubter of the plazzi for a long while and now Im a big fan.

Just seen the video his way is his correct method !at least his willing to share his videos ! Been thinking about posting a few on line myself but I would make hillside look sane !maybe I could be the english hillside!

yep i second that thanks for the vid but next time less chatter and more flesh yeah?:RpS_thumbup: didnt understand a word you said :RpS_biggrin:

i would make a vid but it would go off topic in 2 mins. id end up banned from youtube and on remand :RpS_unsure:

Haha, we slag him but we'd look just as daft if we done it.

Wish somebody would do one of these vids with the easy spat, me and it have a love hate relationship.

Thanks for posting. Work looks tidy. I need to persevere with the speedskim me thinks

I gave up with it on skim. I did 1 job where I only used a trowel to put it on and did everything else with the spat and it was perfect. Every other time it was greasy or streaky. Good for flattening if you've got an extra big set on but that's about it

I was the same, first job over plasterboard and finished it all with spat and I'm thinking this is the future but since then as you said, greasy and streaky. Just done a large k rend job using it and thought I'm going to give it one more try with skim so now I flatten first coat with it and use it after first wet rub (sometimes, sometimes it wants to tear) but I find after second wet rub it leaves it looking good then over with the plastic and it looks far more glassy looking. If that makes sense lol

Did no one else notice that lovely stripy effect the Wizzyskim left behind?
Far from making things easier it looked to me to draw the whole process out. I often only have to put the trowel over a wall/ceiling twice after it's laid in on boardwork, feck all that spraying water on a wall when it doesn't really need it and having to go back and tidy round the edges where the Wizzyskim didn't go.

Hi dan ,just watched the video and I think you are wrong in saying "it's finished" looked ready for troweling and saving at that stage, not quality at all, ok for DIY, self painting etc but no where near good enough for quality work not by a mile, it's the wrong tool been used incorrectly ,god help those who try this, I would run them and snap the speed skim over their heads..just saying

that blade is not designed for that, that one is for flattening in when just laid on i.e really fresh gear you could hear when you was flattening in that you had let it set in to much

yep have to agree... @Curry seems to know his beans as well when it comes to the Speed\skim.... when you get the new blade then finishing it is **** hot :)

I just use mine for flattening in :) the finish the normal way :)

Yep you can't get it to finish with the plastic blade. As said above you can get it okish but you wouldn't get away with it on site.

It's so simple to do even my 9 week old could do it. You need to make sure your not using plaster that's mixed to thick. I've been seeing some guys on site using chunky plaster and it ducking awful for speedskimming it just don't work.

It's all about making it the easiest job to do for your body.
