I'm looking to lime plaster using NHL lime onto plasterboard. I know I will need a primer, but the DG27 primer is expensive. Wondering if the acrylic primers used for tiling would work? Or does anyone have any other alternatives?

There is a onecoat lime plaster for plasterboards if I remember rightly from l*m*-g***n :RpS_thumbup:

I don't get the logic, we only use
Lime plaster in renovation , as it is permeable and allows the building to 'breathe '
Plasterboard seals a building so one counteracts the other .
Am I missing something ?

Probably not Frank, doesn't seem right does it?

No bubbles , thought I was imaging it until I read the guys previous post,
Obviously a DIY guy, and no harm In that.
But probably been ill advised .
A little knowledge etc

Hi if you are using it just for the finish then you may as well use multi finish and sponge it to open the texture. If you need to lime wash to match the colour of the walls if these are in lime you will need to use lime on the plasterboard. Another alternative to DG27 is using St Austier R50 which will adhere to plasterboard and is still a lime product so will take lime wash and other breathable paints. Hope this helps.
