Will Blue Grit stick to floor tiles????????????????

A Marra of mine wants to put laminate flooring over floor tiles and he was asking if a grit adhesive would be enough to hold the sheets of thin insulation tiles he's putting under the laminate and as ive got a tub of blue grit in the lock up i was gonna let him use that, If it will work????

you know what tight arse marra's are like.................cheap and cheerful and all that....................:rolleyes)

if the tiles are solidly bedded you dont need the grit, just go over them.. tiled if soundly bonded are fine to tile, plaster or lay floor coverings over..

I could take you to a bathroom where the walls rattle nicely every time a train goes past after I dabbed the tiled walls many years ago!

One of the finest afternoons of my life was spent watching 2 chancers trying to render over a tiled shop front on a busy high street .... :RpS_laugh:

Painting, plastering or tiling over tiles is just dog rough ... La Fin!

If it's them green underlay tiles your on about it won't need it marra, if they are moving about as he lays them just tape them together here & there to stop them moving with masking tape or duct tape, the weight of the laminate will hold them in place once done.

Well, DMA. you have to have the experience and know what your doing.. obviously you wouldnt render over tiles. but if the tiles are soundly bonded and flat, its a good substrate to go over with finish or tiles.. as I said tho mate, you have to know what your doing, you have to prepare them correctly, i would be happy dot and dabbing boards over suitably bonded tiles, .. british Gypsum do courses on it, maybe do a couple ? there very good...

How much is the BG dabbing over tiles course ?

Its not marketed as a Dab over tile course ( as I really hope you know and are taking the piss ) ok, let me explain for ya.. coat the tiles ( that are well bonded ) with gyproc bond it... leave to dry overnite, then dab to your hearts content.. and if you fancy the course dont ask for the dabbing over tile course, or they will think you are a re***d...

Too late, im already booked on it......................the bird on the phone knew exactly what course i was on about...................:RpS_wink:

awesome, you dont mind me parking in your spot do you?.............................:flapper:

A porsche is a bit of a phallic symbol dont you think....................:RpS_wink:
