Am in the market for a mixing drill, all the big brands (makita, belle etc) are a little out of my price range. Anybody got any advice or recommendations? Looking to spend around £100

The sparky mixers ain't half bad! And screw fix always doing offers and deals prob got some now cos its easter

ive had that makita mixer for a while and its good but it is my backup now as ive had a eibenstock for about a year now

id have the makita aswell but thats because ive got one haha and mines a 110 aswell but all my power tools are

As the lads say 110v is safer and legal to use on site but, if all the work you do is on domestics and you are not a clumsy messy fooker you should be ok with the 240 and no need for the transformer. I have the an older model of the dewalt one your looking at and it is mustard. Had it nearly 10yrs and only changed the brushes on it a few times.

makita i think, better off with 110v in my opinion////

If your working on a 'site' then 110v is a must but if your only working for 'private' customers go for 240v. What's the point of lugging a transformer on and off jobs if it's not necessary?

the alfra certainly looks to be exactly the same as the rifina all bar the handle. I noticed rifina have a special offer on thier 1800 tho so, if you order over the phone you can get 100 bar worth of tools of your choice which, if you want more tools anyway saves a chew on. the cheapest i have seen the alfra new anywhere is 289 bar

Wtf is all this Bar about? :RpS_laugh:

OK some translation seems reasonable at this juncture when i use the term bar it refers to what in the Queens own english would be one of our english pounds. and yes by London slang it would seem a little excessive :RpS_laugh:

when i was in the market for one i did all the sums for each model and even with the "deal" on tools the refina do it was still the most expensive way of getting mixer and tools, the alfras good but youll want to change the paddle on it spankyson andy bought that one and the paddle was the one that throws the muck out of the bucket rather than pulling it all down and in towards the whisk

Positive is the one what pulls it up, negative down I think?? Will get a negative one I think, may have one already on my other drill..

thats the one i couldnt remember the directions so i talked a goodun haha but yeah that alfra comes with a positive whisk so youll wanna fack that off right away youve bought a new mixer treat your self to a nice new refina paddle the 180 works like a blaady treat with that mixer
