Hello all,

Been working with another plasterer for the past week skimming artex ceilings and some old rough walls. He suggested putting a couple of handfuls for bonding in with the first mix which we did.
First coat went on lovely and covered really well, then lay in with normal second mix ( just multi) . Finish was perfect.
Just wondering what your thoughts on this are and do any of you of it??

Same here... always do it on artex lids and walls... sometimes use a 50/50 mix for top.coat and finish with top.coat of. multi..

I wouldn't bother personally, if your mixing the two together so you can get it on thicker then surely your just adding more weight to the ceiling, just run your floor scraper over the ceiling to take the nibs of, PVA and skim as normal.
