If we're really gonna be anal, we might as well go back to the days where tradesmen used to turn up for work in a suit..

**** all that ****, Shorts, t shirt, go to work, bring the crap home with ya, take it all off, sit in pants on me laptop, have a bash, go n shower, change, go prices jobs in clean clothes, eat, tv, go to bed.. and so the cycle continues. Ooooosh
Not been on this forum for a while but this thread has been hilarious! Freerider this quote sounds like you could be me. I just read it and burst out laughing. Here's me thinking most of us are like this. Obviously not, can't believe how righteous some people are on here about cleanliness. I always say any plasterer who is too clean etc is obviously more worried about image than what state they've left someone's walls in. Image can be sorted once you've showered. I don't give a **** how much plaster I'm covered in as long as customers house is tidy and and plastering is bang on! Served me well so far

Happy 50th comment to meee happy 50th comment to meeee :-] sorry lads had to get that out my system.
overalls seem old and I always find that smelly people that don't clean always wear them I got cargo joggers that don't look like joggers? That makes sence to me. And a well fitted top with business prints.
If im pricing I would dress casual smart. Sorry if none of that made sence

putting to one side my comments about people who wear shorts /tacksuitbottoms for work , and putting aside your comments about people who wear overalls, the person who wears shorts/tracksuit bottoms is no better a plasterer than i am and likewise i am no better a plasterer because i wear overalls, lads like me who shave every morning and wear overalls do so because we take a pride in our appearance it is not being righteous as derbyskimmerr says, at the end of the day we take our overalls off get into our vans go homeclean, whereas lads who wear shorts tracksuit bottoms are taking all the days dust, muck, plaster etc into your homes going all over the carpets, sofas, kids toys everywhere , this apart from dirtying the house is potentially a health hazard to any young children in the house asthma, germs etc, previous comment says lads who wear overalls are smelly, in fact quite the opposite as mentioned we shave each day and wear overalls to keep clean because we take a pride in our appearance ,but its you lads who are taking all the days dirt into your homes not me,while i do not expect you to change overnight, and while i am not the most religous of men, i was always taught and told cleanliness is next to godliness, and this applies both to workmanship and appearance, all best hector

genuinely pleased its served you well so far derbyskimmer, honestly, but bottom line is you take all the days dust, dirt, muck, plaster into your home,

Last thing I want is to go home covered in shoite. Boots come off at home at the front door as well (and every time we go to a customers house to quote).
Who would you give a job to, someone who looks like they work at a porridge factory and scribbles quotes on the back of a torn envelope or someone who turns up looking professional?

breakfast, lunch, dinner thats what they are called not bloody snap, bait or any other random word you can make up for eating " yeah im just goin to stop for handle now"
shakehead.gif

breakfast dinner then tea

if you make up some food and take it out with you and no matter what time of day you eat it, it will always be your 'Snap' unless you sit on a beach or some grass with the kids, thats a pinic:RpS_wink:

its still called lunch snap has no relevance to what your eating unless you have rice krispies and you picked out all the crackle and pop

lunch might be what you call it but its still dinner time and not 'lunch':RpS_wink:

anyway i still dont understand that 'muffty' or whatever it was called:RpS_confused:

i dnt know what mufty day is either never herd it before.
dinner is your main meal so the one you have when your home in the evening

never heard of snap before, certainly dont say lunch up here, always known as bait since adam was a lad,, and this mufty word whats all that about:RpS_wink:

Snap comes from 'snap boxes' that miners used for their pack-up.
Breakfast, dinner and supper unless you're a suthern shandy drinking poof :RpS_wink: :RpS_lol:

Muffy day is when we where nippers and U was in school you would have a day around Christmas or Easter. You can dress in your own clothes but you had to give the teacher a quid for doing it.
