Does anyone not think this would be good, I enjoy reading about how other foreign plasterers, gibbers ect ect work and what materials they use.

It might start to attract foreign plasterers, Australian, kiwi, German they all use different techniques and products.

Just a thought.

Plasterers not based in uk that use different products and methods.

If I want to know about foreigners ill go see Albanian Albert in the boozer

Don't make fun of Albanians mate, all that blond hair and red eyes and not being able to go out in the sun must be a right ****.:RpS_mad:

Just an idea lads, I'm not as well travelled as some and not worked abroad before.

Have we got any Aussie spreads on here?

I'm talking about a section on its own, for discussing methods and products used in other countries.

It might be handy and a good read, for lads who are thinking of working abroad.

i love to see foreign spreads each time we go on holiday and i see a buliding i stop to have a look at our brother tradesman .................... " sad man i know "

it would be interesting to hear from some japanese plasterers......

yes this has always been the plan.....

Hence the move in 2010to the .com but the thing is is that most other nationalities don't get the UK humour:)

Not as sad as walking through the red light district in Amsterdam and while my mates were ogling the Eastern European prostitutes I was looking up at the wonderful architecture.

I think it's a good idea cos when I look at YouTube vids of American spreads they talk about plaster as spackle and I get confused. Com

Spackle's a filler, like polyfilla. It's mostly used by decorators. :RpS_thumbup:

Well I guess I would qualify as a foreign plasterer, as I'm from the US, My Grandfather (b 1892) came over from Sweden, he was a mason & my Dad & some of my Uncles were plasterers. I think I get most of your humor, but I'm finding that I'm having to look up a lot of references about the materials you're talking about, which is all good because there is so much to learn about our trade. I also collect books about plastering the best ones seem come from the UK. Spackle is something that painters use to fill nail holes and using the word spackle and plasterer in the same sentence is somewhat demeaning.
