Sounds good to me. Then you can all stop whinging like babies every time anyone says anything positive about them.

Maybe we could have a section for modern uptodate kit for the blokes that dont mind trying something different, to maybe try and progress a little, and could have another section for grumpy old gits that think the future is owning one carbon trowel, and think that if anyone else does things differently to the way they do then theyre either rough or crap.

So you actually have a speedskim now? How's the ritmo by the way? Still super shiney?

Yes I do and yes the Ritmo is super, super shiny.

I've got a big house on with loads of raked ceilings and I'm using the Speedskim to rule the joint to get them
straight-ish just as I have with a cavity closer in the past. The handle on the Speedskim is nicer than the bit of batten I had nailed to the closer.

Why you not usin the machine to skim the house?

And feeling the need to explain that you have 3 trowels rather than one isnt a bite no !! Just have a look back through some of your recent posts mate and youll see just how ignorant you come across. I would imagine that some of the younger lads in the game, using upto date kit would put you to shame. Just because somethings not for you doesnt mean its bollox, maybe it just means you havnt got it in you to adapt and move with the times.

plazzi used one speedskim used one s*p*r*lex used one machine used one only one id use again is the machine and i havent come across any spread that would put me to shame young or old now these post where im ignorant show me

If I was doing it supply and fix I'd definitely be using the machine, but there's no way was this guy going to be getting the Spray Finish in for us. It would have been perfect for this place as there are three ceilings over 60m2 on the ground floor alone.

Andy forget the speedskim try a s*p*r*lex. Been finishing with mine today

I just might do that Steve. Did I see you mention that you know somewhere that sells them cheaper as I don't fancy spending loads on something I might just end up sticking in the unit.

Andy are you growling up with you're speedskim or using it to flatten between coats?

I bought it to rule the joint between ceiling and rake, which does ok but doesn't get them as straight as using an ali featheredge due to their flexibility.
I have also used them to flatten off the first coat, something I don't often do. And they do that pretty well. Personally I prefer to not use it to flatten my laying in coat. As I've said before these aren't a new idea, people have been using the cavity closers to flatten off ever since they first came onto sites and before that they used other bits of flexible plastic or rubber.

hire your ritmo to me iam doing base and mono eco rend gear about the best mono ive ever used

How very dare you, hire out my lovely little virgin Ritmo. You just use and abuse her and then give her back all soiled.

I think I've lost the plot:RpS_blushing:

Atleast she will get to serve her purpose in life, not just rot away in someones shed. Ive heard loads of sad stories (only what ive heard). Of machines being bought, used, abused then locked away in sheds and garages. Believe me this is not just a problem in Africa, it is effecting people in England. please sign our petition on www.shedsareformowers.com

I know what you're saying Flynny but she will get to serve her purpose before to long. Just a case of circumstances that have led to her not being used yet. I always knew I wouldn't use it day in day out due to the varied work I take on, but I think I got a good deal on it so not worried about it just sitting there.
Having said that I really do wish this current job was supply and fix as I would definitely have a pallet of the Thistle Spray Finish there now, laying 70m2 on by hand is a ball ache when it could be sprayed on by my son.

You can physically spray Multi, and it won't harm the machine, but BG say you shouldn't due to adhesion issues.
I've always tried to pretty much stick to manufacturers guide lines (just the odd deviation:RpS_blushing:) and up until now it's served me well, so I'm not about to start spraying Multi any time soon. Also the Spray Finish works very differently to Multi and it's that difference that would be a big bonus when doing big ceilings as well as not having to handball it on.

And finally jrp go and wash your mouth out with soap and never talk of my Ritmo getting dirty again.

We've had no adhesion issues with multi through the pump. If bg want to sell more spray finish then they need to pull there fingers out and supply quantities on our terms not theirs.

Whats the issue with getting it in pallets? It's the same for any of spray plasters.
