did my first day today monoing by hand. it is the first and most definatly the last time i will ever being doing it. it is possibly the gayest thng i have ever done. that is all

Some dnt have a choice and have to doit by hand as havent a pump.we regularly render by hand

i was saying to the guys i was doing it with, if i couldnt afford a pump i would get one on finance off blones or something. the effort involved compared to spraying and how much longer it takes is massive. the extra meters you could get on would pay for a machine in a couple of months

I would have been in A&E sounds like a hard day in the saddle . If you see your future in a pump then go for it, You should have traded your pump and done a deal with the machine boys on here.

Problem is nick once you've bought a machine you might not you use it for 3 months unless you're lucky like yourself and pick up plenty of mono work

P.s welcome to the real world lol

true. but these guys are on 5 days a week £12p/m. i think its nuts

no. i said to them a few times it must be easier to use one and they said no **** that, theyre a waste of time. the scooping it out the tub is more tiring than putting it on

its not for us mere mortals. and they knocked it up stiff as **** to do it al in one pass

I feel your pain m8, never done one that big though...couple of questions nick...

how did you work right to left doing the join between lifts as you went?

How did you mix up? whisk? mixer?

What thickness were you putting it on?

Cheers

the panels were only about 4-5m wide so just did a lift at a time. 15mm stuck on beads so quite heavy. mixed with a whisk 6-7 bags at a time in a cut down water butt

its donkey work sticking it on by hand, we did some small pillars last week and it took an age, to mix, load up, and apply.
if lads are sticking it on by hand there mugs,
especially now the better weathers here and your getting same day scrapes.

genny is having some work done on it. a wire shorted and burnt out. thats what my mate always says. well have it on in no time. and its a load of b*ll***s. anything above about 4 bags and its quicker to set up the machine and spray it
