Board is £4 inc VAT a bag in B&Q and is better on plasterboard. Its strange its almost as if BG made it to go on boards :RpS_confused:

i always used board on everything then i found i had really hanging board finish as though it was messed about with at the factory!! so i swapped to multi but when the weather drops the multi seems to be less stable and hangs too much then bolts on me as the chemicals kick in to send it brown so i've gone back to board for now

any material with the term 'multi' in it's discription is not going to be as good as something made for a specific purpose. In Ireland 'multi finish' is just not good enoughas finish coat on any background. No need to get all patriotic about it:RpS_lol:

Board finish on p board and s +c, multi on bonding and hard wall etc and two coats every time.

Knauf universall board finish is the Muts Nuts:RpS_wink:

REALLY?? you cant trowel it properly and it just wont polish

but i prefer multi finish i think its a bit greasier than board finish and it may be just it playing tricks on me but i seem to get a better finish with it, but like i said it may be just me

Me and the lads who work for me had no problems troweling it....just need to adjust your timmings as there different to BG plasters. Granted doesnt polish as good as multi but does what it says on the bag - produces a smooth matt finish. you dont see the polish once its painted anyway.

Multi-finish.

Multi-finish has a retarder in it, much like syriphite plaster of old used to go over sand and cement.
Board finish is much coarser than either carlite or multi-finish, it blacks after 90 minutes as where multi turns after 90 minutes but blacks in about 2 hours.
Multi finish is now preferrable to all surfaces as it leaves a good all round finish and is very predictable in nature.
After berating multi-finish on its first arrival I now use all the time and is now our preferred finish plaster.

You should see the finish on my testicles after I've shaved them clean and applied two coats of shea butter........simply astonishing!

i leave a good job using the knauf stuff but it just doesnt seem to be a good finish i dunno i just cant walk away from a job without it being polished i cant help it matt just wont cut it, i appreciate its cheaper but i dont like it and the only people that do is the money men as it does seem to go further then bg

I used knauf multi before I moved, it was gash!
then I move here and no matter what you buy it's just like knauf multi.

Luckily I scored a pallet of thistle multi last year it was like a dream to use.
Run out now though so it's back to shite stuff.

Where you move to? , i had heard a lot of horror stories about it (knauf multi) before i started using it but i cant fault it, trowels up easy takes longer to go off so you can get more on, and you get more meterage to a bag,and the finish is fine. whats not to like.each to there own i suppose. From BG plasters i do prefer multi anyway.
