Hello,

Im just about to do a course in this application, and am a decorator not a plasterer, so choosing the right tools is proving quite hard.

Im just going to invist £200 ish in a load of trowels mixers bucketsetc.

From my limited research it seems pavan are the daddys and they do a kit in a box for around that money. Has anyone got one of these pavanm trowel kits? are they all inlusive> Im guessing i will need to buy internal / external as well. The pavan kit seems to have a lot of spatulas and only 2 trowels which im a bit worried about, and you may be paying aloty for the box!

Any help would be well appreciated cause the labeling of teh individual trowels 825/1 etc may aswell be chinese.

cheers, john

Hi John, Try Andy at Goldtrowel / Decorativeplastering. I buy all stuff from him like others on here. His trowels are the nuts, using co'me and he would sort you out for a good price with the lot. Cheers JAY

aye you need internal stainless steel trowel and external and a normal stainless, and a burnishing trowel. the spats are handy but no that good. i went on a venetion marble course a while ago, it ain really picked up hear though. think the price puts the tight arsed customers off. worth doing though, as long as you can allready plaster if not i think it would be a waste cash

Yup give Andy At GT a call he will help you out :)

I thinking about having a go at it :) maybe next week I will get stuck in :)

Hi John, there are endless amounts of trowels and tools you could buy. However just get the essentials and then buy as you need. I started off with a few spats, small, medium and large trowels, angle trowels and bucket scoop.
Now my kit has grown some what, i have seperate laying on trowels for marmorino and spatulata, seperate burnishing trowels for different finishes aswell.

Bewarned once you start with this work you will become obsessed. we even have a couple of custom made trowels which im breaking in at the min.

I wont be posting on the forum for a while due to traveling up north for a couple of jobs, i will post some pics when im back.

Also this section has gone very quiet recently, so keep posting questions and pics.

All the best john with the course and selection of trowels.
